Best Place to Buy a Suit in Melbourne

Hi all,

Anyone have any suggestions on where to purchase a good suit in Melbourne? I'm looking in the $700-$1000 range, but happy to save $$ where I can :)

Thanks,
JB

    Rhodes and Beckett.

Usually around $1k but they regularly have 30-40% off sales.

I don't think I've ever paid full paid as I've never needed a suit that desperately not to wait a few months.

Good luck JB from another JB.

    • Thanks - keep seeing their name pop up on OZB, but never checked them out. They have nice looking threads online. Will definitely go visit. Thanks!

      • Quality is good, however I do remember (and still have my first suit from them) that the quality seems higher in the past and was made in Australia.

These days it's probably China like everything else.

    Travellers Apparel
    79 Wellington St

These are custom made suits starting at about $600 and the store in Richmond is the manufacturer factory so you are buying direct. Every fabric under the son available. Also thousands off the rack. Quality is fantastic.

You will find a dozen or more wedding parties here every weekend waiting to be fitted so DO NOT attempt to go on a weekend. And they don't take bookings. Go on a weekday.

Half the KPMG Melb office are wearing suits from here :P

    • Is half-canvas standard across their range? How much of a discount do KPMG employees receive?

      • Lol, I went there a year ago upon several colleagues' recommendation.
        Average suits. Fully fused only.

Fly overseas for a good tailored half canvassed suit otherwise buy OTR Suitsupply, MJ Bale.

  • Thanks all - will explore all of these.

  • In that price range, suitsupply.com
Free returns and very good quality.

I had a fully bespoke canvassed wardrobe from a quality tailor, then went and lost a LOT of weight. Too much to alter the suits, so I rebuilt my wardrobe with suitsupply suits on the cheap.

Great size options (for me at least since I wear a short length)

  • Suit Supply in Sydney, hands down.
