Cadbury Coco Special Edition 70% Cocoa Dark Espresso Chocolate 100gm Bars $1 @ The Reject Shop

720

The Cadbury copywriter claims on the front of this chocolate's packaging "elegantly smooth dark chocolate with espresso and lingering cocoa character". He repeats that on the back, and then prominently exacerbates the vacuity with "Cadbury Coco dark chocolate is crafted from fine quality cocoa, carefully selected and refined to deliver an elegantly smooth dark chocolate experience that captivates the senses with lingering cocoa character". And I bet he doesn't have a girlfriend.

Evidence such marketing failed proliferates inside the refined splendour of Cessnock's elite exclusive emporium Ye Olde Reject Shoppe. As esteemed purveyors of haute cuisine dainties to gastronomes and metropolitan sophisticates, a Royal Warrant is inevitable. Hardly unreasonable in a year when - unimaginable 50 years ago - Barbara Windsor is knighted and Rolf Harris remains imprisoned for indecently assaulting minors.

Chocolate is a basic human right. This chocolate has a pleasant, somewhat mature coffee flavour (though not as strong as I'd prefer) and lacks the cloying, dominant aftertaste many dark chocolates impose. Made in Belgium, rated 70% cocoa, the quality justifies the $1 price, since a good chocolate bargain is rarer than a nice South African (thanks to O. Pistorius).

Now cheaper than the previous $1.50 deal, https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/264377 I saw at least 100 bars, about 60% Best Before mid-December, the remainder 31-01-2017. I bought a few as my Waterford Crystal bowl is almost empty. https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/46870/43501/img_201610…

Yes! Love your Reject shop posts. Missed out on the Pringles so will rush in this time

Also what's the device behind the bowl?

I saw none of those Xtra Fiery Sweet Grill flavour today, which is surprising because they had many 2 weeks ago. Instead, there were many tubes of Roast Chicken (I think) flavour, but I won't encourage the $2 price with a posting here.

Found one of the Xtra Fiery Sweet Grill today!

Well done. They can keep their Roast Chicken flavour tubes until the price gets interesting.

Still scanned at $1 ? For fiery grill

@shonofear: Yep, the cashier was already well aware about the $1 price

That's a Sharp 3D Surround stereo system I bought in a garage sale 14 years ago for $7. Featuring a 3-CD drawer changer, it works perfectly and, connected to my PC, I get a better sound than ever for my FLAC albums.

Thanks OP. I bought 15 bars of these for $1.50 in the Reject Shop, a few days later I saw them for $1.30 in the Spud Shed and now they are a dollar. They are good quality, I am going to go tomorrow and buy a few more.

Well, I've stocked up for next winter, regardless of expiry. Whoever was behind me in the store will have to miss out. Thanks OP. I'm devouring a rather large section, with great pleasure, as I type.

    These are terrific. Great price.

Has anyone seen stores restock these? Last I checked my store didn't have any out at a $1.50. Forest Hill, VIC.

    • +1

I did not previously see these bars for $1.50, so you might see them locally for $1 now.

    • At least 250 bars (Best Before various dates in January) now at Cessnock.

I come from a snobby position of bargain hunting 80%+ Lindt as my only chocolate pantry filler, but I have to say that this chocolate has great bite!

For a buck it's pretty good.

I've been buying one at a time to curb choco input. Now, at $1 will have to buy a few.
