  They still make previous generations, each has different features for different needs. I would highly recommend any rx100 - love my M3. If you can make do without the faster/wider lens I'd definitely go this. The viewfinder in the next few models isn't great.

    More like they upgrade model so fast and continue to want higher price for improve model.

    Edit: not that the older model isn't suited for some people.

  I always struggled to make my mk3 focus at close-up and macro shots. I kinda hate it. I have no skill so maybe its me.

    So just like your eyes, a lens has a minimum focus distance, so irrespective of how close you get, you'll NEVER get it to focus if you're inside that distance.

    Don't stick the lens as close as possible to the subject, and move AWAY from the subject until it focuses.. And if you really want more detail close in, crop the picture to the part you do want to focus on.. You have 20 megapickles to play with..
