If you eat chips and are lazy enough to use the frozen ones, you need this chipbot. My stationary R2 unit (white Philips air fryer) makes much better chips than my oven does, and it does so more quickly.

  • I bought this last time it was on here. I used it once for chips and they were great. But, I haven't used it since. 'Spoze I should advertise it on the classies for $100 off.

As a Philips Airfryer 9230 user (the one with LED screen) for over 2 years. I strongly recommend do not buy this airfryer. The reason is:

    1. Overpriced item. This entry level (without LED screen) Airfryer sold on about $180 after cashback in 3 years ago. I suggest to buy one from ebay when they have 10% off at about $80~90 (I bought one early this year for my friends).

    2. Stupid container design (metal net bottom). Once you try to clean it you will know what I'm saying and you will find those ebay Airfryer using different type on container which makes it easier to clean (hole bottom with non-stick coat).

    3. No cut-off protection when you take off the container during frying (when you need to roll over the food). Unfortunately the ebay item has this function.

    4. Issue I meet is suddenly shut down on my LED Airfryer. So I think LED Philips Airfryer is a bad choice. Manual timer looks out-of-date but more reliable and easier. And philips make bigger profit on those LED display AIrfryer.

    5. Paying $90 you can get a larger size Airfryer from ebay (You will find bigger container is important if you frequently use it). Philips sell their XL Airfryer with a ridiculous high price (rrp $400+).

Philips may be the first company to popularize the concept "Air Fry", but they are really a greedy and lazy company.
