Less Supermarket Post. - Too Many 'everyday' Deals

I don't know about all of you, but personally I am sick of coming to Ozbargain and seeing multiple Supermarket post, I hardly consider them "Bargains" and more so just a typical everyday deal, like when I posted this there was 4 from Woolworths and 1 from Dan Murphy's it's ridiculous. What are your thoughts?

You can stop them from appearing if you don't like them

  • You can block seeing deals for any store you wish.

You can block deals from a a store by going to one of their deals and hitting the hide link. So go to a Coles deal, for example this one and click Hide, then Hide deals from store Coles. Do the same with Woolworths or any other store.

    See instructions here.

    • Thanks for that :-)

I like the Coles and used to be Woolworths early catalogs for shopping purposes. I actually miss the Woolworths preview now it's gone.

I's sure there are lots of post that don't interest people. Nothing making you click the post.

friggen hell, Think I should have paid a bit more attention to my spelling - lol

Welcome! I enjoy them, I think you will get used to it. Especially if a user posts a single item that they like, then it generates discussion about the product. Also if I get to posting the catalogue I try to add "Last time this price" so people have easy access to that information

I really value the supermarket posts - I use them regularly. Posting so this thread is ignored.

The supermarket posts (particularly the mega-posts that list the best deals from the weekly catalogue) are great for pre-planning your weekly grocery shop. I love them!

You joined 11 hours ago and your first post complains about bargains you can easily scroll past?

Congrats you know how to see when I joined, would you like a golf clap or some other form of award for the obvious? :)

You got what you asked for. Some members are kind enough to invest a lot of effort in their supermarket posts, and we are indeed fortunate to benefit from that.

I am a big fan of the supermarket specials posts. I do my shopping based on what specials are available, and unlike some other posts where I jump on a bargain but it costs me money because I didn't "really" need it, choosing Coles over Woolies due to some 50% off deals on products I would already be buying usually saves me more than $20 a week. Over a year that's a lot of dough, which I then proceed to blow on cheap flights when I log into OzBargain after a few wines

I like them. Not all of the specials are listed in the weekly catalogue so it's nice to get a heads up of other bargains I otherwise wouldn't hear about. I've picked up quite a few bargains thanks to these kinds of posts.

I actually get the feeling this is a kid who has their mum do their shopping for them.

    That would make sense.

That occurred to me too. I realise supermarket bargains can seem mundane to young people, but we regular shoppers know that some awareness and forethought can save a four-figure sum every year.
