  • I Paid the same last month vi a toys r us price beat. Very easy install for modern cars via the isopod points. Just started using it after transferring my 4 month baby from a strider capsule, so far she has been really settled in it, looks extremely comfy.

  • I actually got a better deal at $422 at BabyCo, basically they had the price at $464 Baby Co, so asked them if they could match Toys R Us price beat.

But hey this is still a good price.

    • I'm more than happy, particularly with the registry

  • BabyCo do price beats during lay by, Toys R Us don't do price match or price beat during layby. a bit of extra info. :)

    • i got this exct seat at toys r us for $440 (via price beat) with layby…

      • if you layby at Toys R Us and saw a cheaper price elsewhere Toys R Us wont match or beat the price. so you'd have to cancel by paying $10 and with the $7 you paid to put it on lay by you lose $17.
At babyco they would price match/ beat even during a layby.

        • so do you mean match the price after you've already purchased the seat on layby? I didnt do that, i went in and got the price matched, then arranged it to be paid on layby…

        • @WillisAU: Yup Babyco would price match while its still on layby with Babyco. Toys R Us wont do the same while you have an item on layby with them. so if you tell Babyco that Toys R Us would beat it by 10% they will match it. that's how i paid $422.

Yes ISOFIX but connected to the seat with a belt rolls eyes

    • could you elaborate?
      is it an australian thing?

      • -1

ISO FIX compatible car seats do not require Seat Belt to install, but you can do either way( only needed to be secured using one of these methods). ISO FIX has tension indicators which shows you when a seat is installed properly and is safer than seat belt installation.

        See more info here.

        https://www.britax.com.au/faqs/isofix-compatible/

        • How do you know if your car has ISO FIX?

        • @trips: you will see them near where the seat belt would connect to, at the base of the seat.

      • I think what LL referred to is the abomination that is Australian ISOFIX.

        This is the real ISOFIX.

        https://www.britax.com.au/car-seats/britax-safe-n-sound-truf…

It is meant to be rigid, not loose seatbelt connectors like this one.

This offer is for ISOFLEX (or ISOFIX compatible), whilst likely safe, defeats the purpose of ISOFIX.

To add to the stupidity, the law still requires ISOFIX seats to have Top Tether. Ummm….one of the main reasons for ISOFIX is to get rid of tethering.

        • The top tether is there so that Australian companies can charge the Australia tax and prevent us from getting similar but far cheaper seats from overseas.

        • +1

@lahiruwan: nothing wrong with top tether really, makes it more safer.

        • @sammyla:

In UK, Europe and US, ISOFIX seats do not have top tether because it is not required when you have the safety of real ISOFIX.

        • @tsunamisurfer: Australia uses a isofix system that the US uses. It's called a LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children). And it has a top tether just like in Australia. This is required because when your car goes upside down, the tether will keep the seat in place. In EU, it’s not mandatory as they use a rigid isofix system as you describe. Anyways, there’s nothing wrong with the LATCH aka aussy isofix system and it is as easy as any EU isofix seats. I’m very happy with my imported 4 year old Britax LATCH car seat and you should not worry about the isofix offerings in the market. I am currently in the market to buy another isofix for my second one. Hope this clarifies as doubt or confusion about our current isofix.

      • Properly designed ISOFIX seats look like this.

        https://www.childcarseats.com.au/sites/default/files/isofix-…

The seat posted here is a non-ISOFIX seat bodgied up with ISOFIX connectors fixed to the seat using a length of belt.

        • What brands have this type of connectors?

        • I checked Maxi cosi too they have the same sort of latch if i'm not mistaken still has a belt, so if you can show me one that does not have a belt it would be great.

        • @sammyla:

          See my reply above.

        • @tsunamisurfer: Ok well Britax is a reputed brand and i have no problem recommending the product, australian safety standards and rules, i guess everybody has to live with it.:)

        • As per m response above, Australia uses a isofix system that the US uses. It's called a LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children). And it has a top tether just like in Australia. It's safe and it eliminates improper seat mount by people when compared to the seat belt system.

Not sure what you mean? ISO FIX will need an ISO FIX compatible car with anchorage points, if the car does not have them you can still install using seat belt method.

  • If you in VIC, you can ask for price match with Babyco $469

    http://babyco.com.au/4008761-view-2.html#.WDO8mPl96rx

    and for QLD $469

    • Im in QLD so couldnt do babyco, but didnt realise belly2baby

  • How does this model compare to:
    Maxi Cosi Euro NXT Isofix
    https://www.babybunting.com.au/maxi-cosi-euro-isofix-dolce-n…

It is the same cost the only difference i can see is it has a gel padding on the nxt model.
