      • Do you have to pay for the return postage?

        • Was free on Amazon prime. Even if I had to pay let's say $30.
Getting back the full purchase price of a phone after nearly 2 years was just unbelievable.

        • +1

Yes, but in my case (sending back to Germany) they also refunded the courier costs.

        • @stephenc1:

Does it mean it replaces a new one / refund the money as long as its within the warranty period?

        • +1

          @pearl2013:

Yep. They are incredibly easy to deal with great customer service.
Amazon will have such a large impact if they carry over their existing policies that they have in Germany, US and UK once they come here.

        • @stephenc1:

Great to know that. Thanks for sharing this info. ;)

  • Been needing a electric toothbrush may as well start with the best! thanks op

man ozbargain is really making me spend the cash this month…

  • Comes up at around 99GBP for me with delivery.. Nope, its working now..

  • Just ordered in black - total came to 82.12 GBP with shipping included. Thanks for the deal !!

    • How do you see freight costs before inputting credit card details? Got through to cars details page and no where was there an indication of freight charge. Am I missing something.?

      • +1

Last Page will show shipping and vat removed

        • Before confirming purchase? Thanks.

        • +1

          @albanyson: of course

        • @atlas:
20.40 GBP postage and packing? Can't get anywhere around the 85 GBP mark, what am I doing wrong?

        • @albanyson: are you using a PO Box? Try a normal residential address?

        • @atlas:
Thanks.got it in the end. Cheers.

          Someone mentioned Phillips cash back.?

  • +2

Bummed they removed the audio jack but at least they have the colour I wanted rose gold

    • Hopefully this model supports bluetooth in the future!

    • +2

That's a shame, but you can buy a dongle to plug it into Oz power sockets so that makes up for it

  • These are so good I'm tempted to buy one just as a spare for when mine eventually dies, but it may not store that long. Also the price reduction may indicate a new model coming (what the hell else can they get these to do).

    • Keep in mind that your warranty period begins ticking when you buy it, not when you start using it.

  • +1

Ok… So I own one of these bad boys. A few things to note:

    1. It takes a good 24hrs to charge. My wife and I share one unit and it lasts about 8 or 9 days per charge (Using different head obviously :P)
    2. The battery is rated for about 2 years. Once out of warranty, you're out of luck.

The chick that served me at HN said that most fail just out of warranty (maybe mine will fail earlier due to 2 people?). I bought the extended warranty and she said they replace it no questions asked. So once mine does fail, I'll just grab a new one.

That being said. Amazing little toothbrush and would highly recommend it :)

    • +14

You don't think you were just 'sold' an extended warranty there bud? :-)

      • Pretty much this.

All tech gets refreshed models, or updates. Will they still stock the model you purchased? If not, do the T&C allow current model replacement?

  • So whats the difference between this and the Oral B 7000
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/273428

    • Ah did some reasearch theyre both well reviewed. Sonicare uses pulses v Oral B rotates. Some say Sonicare is gentler but this one has a cool glass jar charger!
      So bought this. Thanks OP

  • +1

    Guys.

Why is this better than oral-b again?

  • +1

I have both brush and rotate vibrate and I think brush is better clean than rotate and also less teeth bleeding in my own opinion

    • +2

If your teeth are bleeding then you should go to your dentist. It generally means you need to get your teeth professionally cleaned to remove deposits that are irritataing your gums…it could also indicate worse problems but you will be doing yourself a favour to get this sorted out. No amount of expensive toothbrushes will save your gums if there is an underlying problem.

    • +2

And floss. Your gums will bleed for the first few days but they'll become much healthier. Gums don't grow back, you're screwed when they recede.

    • +2

my teeth stopped bleeding few weeks after i switched to electronic brush.

  • 2 things stopping me:

    • Replacement heads are much, much more expensive compared to Oral B. They're like double the price of Oral B. Unless someone can recommend me where to get cheap ones? But then again, most cheap ones are fake.

    • No brushheads storage. If there is more than one person using it, it's just unsightly leaving the other head on the sink.

    • Replacement heads are much, much more expensive compared to Oral B. They're like double the price of Oral B. Unless someone can recommend me where to get cheap ones? But then again, most cheap ones are fake.

They're discounted all the time at Shavershop and HN. Some types are $25 for a 3 pk. Some are $35 for a 2 pk.

No brushheads storage. If there is more than one person using it, it's just unsightly leaving the other head on the sink.

The charging unit has 2 holders for brush heads*. Also, it's recommended you remove the head from the handle after use even if you're the only user. Gunk will build up and it will become unsightly if you don't do this. It is hard to clean gunk off.

*My model's charger does. Not sure about the diamondclean. If the cup is the only way to charge it, you're out of luck. But if it comes with a standard charger, it will have the 2 holders for heads.

I recently bought the Oral B 7000 and have never had my teeth feel so clean after a 2 minute brushing. Is this item as good as Oral-B's?? The reason I ask is because I was going to buy my daughter the 7000.

    • +1

I've used the Oral B for a long time and been really happy, I love that clean feeling and is no comparison compared with normal brushing. I just read some reviews between them and it seems like this sonicare does have some advantages…thinking about one myself!!

      • sonicare is much more superior, i own both oral b 7k and diamonclean, it is much better tech and easier ot use

        • +1

What is hard to use about a toothbrush? Genuinely curious.

        • Bargaingeek

Your statement was the one that broke the camels back….caved in and bought one

        • +2

          @jas0nt:

Dunno about the sonicare but the Oral B definitely makes your mouth feel cleaner afterwards…you ever had that feeling after getting out of the dentist after having teeth cleaned? Feels similar. Just do a google search. Generally it provides a superior cleaning and plaque removal at a much easier effort.

I do a lot of lightweight travel and don't take it with me….it's one of the things I miss most when away

If you clean well and floss regularly I doubt you would notice much difference when going to the dentist though

        • Does your 7K have a built in quadrant timer on the toothbrush? I don't mean through a separate device, but built into the brush itself.

    • +2

That was interesting, however it says it choose the Oral B over sonicare:

It didn’t earn my vote as the best because it was missing useful features, like a pressure sensor to tell you when you’re brushing too hard

Also the research I read which was posted above saying sonicare is better was from 1997…so quite irrelevant.

I guess in the real world differences are probably minimal

  • I've had an Oral-B (not top of the line, but a decent one) and now have the Philips. The Oral-B has Nimh batteries (not sure about the fancier ones), Philips is LiIon (in this model). NiMh are a pain because the gradually lose oomph whereas the LiIon work at full power until they stop. Far better.

The Oral-B uses a mechanical linkage to make the head rotate. The Philips is mechanical too, but it feels far more like a precision instrument.

The small heads for the Philips are good if you have tight spaces around your back teeth.

The Philips heads last longer (they are more expensive though).

  • Wow, what a deal! I bought mine from Shaver Shop around 9 months ago and couldn't be happier.

  • I was keen on this but about 10% of the Amazon reviews give it 1 star due to failures and or faults, its a bit of a roll of the dice, drop $140 and it fails in 3 months, local warranty doubtful (I suspect distributors will view grey imports differently to items purchased on holidays in the US), return shipping to UK at least $40 from what I can see, unless anyone can confirm Amazon will cover this??

  • Rose gold price now 115? Out of stock?

    • Blame Apple fans.

    • It keeps going in/out of stock.

I just managed to grab one at 79.

  • ive been using for last few months, solid performer, only charged twice since. heads will last a while. worth it at this price

  • folks take it from someone who tried both oral b high end model and diamondclean. The philips is hands down better, easier to use.

I just bought another one for my girl, it's a steal at this price.

  • +1

Yes, You'll Need An AU Adapter But You Can Cut The Head Off & Screw In AU Plug From Bunnings For $3

    Payment Total: AUD 144.14

  • Always used a manual toothbrush and hoping this is going to make a difference. Diving in to the world of electric toothbrushes with such a massive saving is exciting.

  • For those who have one, how long do the brush heads last before replacing? Can you get like 6 months out of each brush head?

    • I have had a sonicare for about 5 years and do get close to 6months. The heads go on special a few times a year at Myers so stock up then. Get 3 mini brushes for about $20. Mini brushes are much better than normal size.

      • in what was are the minis better than normal?

        • They seem firmer and fit in your mouth better so seems to just give you a better clean. I notice the bigger ones seem to wear out quicker.

    • It's rated for 3 months. You can use it for 6 months, but it's less effective.

If you examine the brush when the indicator tells you to change it, you might not notice anything wrong with the bristles and think it's just a scam with them wanting you to spend more money on heads sooner, but once you replace the head you will notice an instant difference in cleaning strength, just like when changing a bag in your vacuum cleaner you notice it sucks a lot stronger.

The bristles still look straight after 3 months, but a microscopic view will show where the differences are.

  • Possibly a dumb question, but does anybody know, if I was to buy this, would it be compatible with an AU charging base from Philips spare part website?

    • +1

Just pick up an adapter from ebay for $1

    • +1

It will be. All the other models will work also.

I use one charger for AirFloss and 2 types of Sonicare brushes. One of the Sonicare brushes and the Airfloss are imported. The charger is from an Australian Sonicare.

  • £188.70 for two brushes and 2 sets of refills delivered. Thanks op.

i bought these two years ago and still going strong - cleans so much better than manual.
you might need a couple of days to get used to it though.
i would recommend not to leave the brushes on charger all the time.
    only charge them when required.

  • I have bought 5 last time and now 2 more.

  • tip for those looking for other colors, keep refreshing page until you grab one. They keep adding stock then sells out in 5 minutes. Just grabbed a rose gold one using that method

    • +1

tried. seems like it is gone now. Only black is available.

  • -2

Tempted. Rose Gold went up in price though. And that's the coolest looking color.

Anyone know if it uses Lion or NiMH batteries?

Philips refreshed a few models and added 3 power levels and changed batteries to Lion. Doesn't seem like the Diamondclean got that refresh.

Also, anyone know if that cup can charge other Philips brushes (not diamondclean)?

Just a couple tips for those new to these toothbrushes..

    • Remove the head after brushing or else gunk will build up inside the head and on the handle. You won't see them do that in the pics, but the manual recommends it.
    • Diamonclean is the flagship model but the Diamondclean heads are no longer the best heads Philips makes. That honor goes to the new AdaptiveClean heads. They have yet to make a new handle based around AdaptiveClean though. EDIT: ACtually, Flexcare Platinum includes AdaptiveClean heads.
    • This is still the most expensive but I would argue the FlexCare Platinum is the best brush handle they make. It has 3 power strengths and Lion battery as well as the different brush modes, and a separate button to cycle through the brush modes instead of a single button.
  • pink one is showing 79.99 for me

  • rose gold is back in stock. just placed my order 1 min ago.

  • Is this worth it? I already have a Oral B Triumph, mind you I bought it many years ago and I got it for low 100s from the UK as-well, tho they sell for high 100s here.
When it comes to my teeth, I am happy to shell the cash esp if it's a worthy investment.

This requires a simple UK/AU plug? I bought a pack of 5 from eBay ages ago for barely anything which were universal to AU plugs.

Currently seems only PINK is in stock for that price :|

  • They're all up to 115-ish pounds

  • Checked at 7.30am this morning and rose gold was still in stock, thought I'd grab it once I got in the office, now they seem to be all out, regret!!! any update on anyone getting any now?
I notice the pink has been updated to 79-ish pounds again but when you click on it, the price reverts to 115-ish pounds

  • +2

All up to around £115. Looks like this has expired.

    • Not really. try refresh the page, you may still get it. I just bought one with 4 brush pack for GBP99.84

      • Lucky. I seem to keep missing out :O

        • +1

I just checked and black is back in store - could add to basket!

  • No cash rewards on Amazon.CO.UK?

  • +1

Rose gold seems to be back in stock. Just picked one up.

    • +1

ditto & I checked again - could add more to basket so there's definitely more stock!

    • I kept refreshing page and get 79.99 price time to time but when I add to basket get an error.

How you guys bypassed it? Is it me or need to keep trying?

      • Keep trying

        • +1

Thanks for the tip. Ordered white for $143. Not sure why but there was no paypal option for payment.
Just after that rose gold also on deal but it was too late.

If anyone still looking, pink, rose gold and white in stock.

        • @ggmm2013123: Nice. Thanks for replying. Swapped my black one out for white.

        • @ggmm2013123: how much was your freight?

        • +1

          @albanyson:
79.99 comes up with taxes but when you purchase, it comes up 66.66 plus 15.53 for freight.

        • @ggmm2013123:
          Cheers.

Comment below about Phillips cash back obviously isn't available?

No AMEX here, so no $100 rebate.

        • @albanyson:
Without Amex this deal is your best bet.
Keep trying, black comes in stock more often.

        • @ggmm2013123:
          Grabbed a black one.

          No Amex discount / rebate.
Doesn't look like the Phillips cashback is viable/available either on the UK one…

        • @albanyson:
Good to know. Yes, cashback was for Harvey Norman only.

  • This is now showing as 79.99.
