Great price but I'm still on the fence about this one. Seems to have some middling reviews.
For those who are dubious, I actually noticed the other day there's a free trial available, at least on Win10. It's 30 minutes unlimited play rather than a tailor made demo; get as far as you can in half an hour and then you're locked out until you pay.
I enjoyed what I experienced, but I can definitely see what the reviews were saying about the combat getting pretty grindy/repetitive. But for $20 I'll probably jump on it :-)
did'nt know recore had a demo i downloaded the 20gb for forza horizon 3 last night and found it crashing and stuff on my pc ruining what was an awesome game till it crashed lol
Yeah it's not really a demo, not like FH3 has anyway. You grab the full game (should've mentioned in my OP, it's about 9GB) and you can get as far as you want in your 30 minutes. I only played about 15 minutes before I had to stop, but you can resume and play more until your 30 mins is up.
And I can confirm once your half hour is done, if you buy the game it simply removes the time lock - was able to resume my save exactly where I left off. Quite a slick, consumer friendly approach actually!

I used PayPal with an Australian NAB credit card. I could not use the store credit I had in my AU Microsoft account. Code worked fine when redeemed against AU account though.
The US Address I use is:

So you entered your credit card details into the microsoft page (not paypal), and then used a fake US billing address?
I'm assuming I will get denied when the billing address doesn't match up, and I would like to use my US$ balance.

I set it up a few years back, but from memory, I added PayPal as a payment method with the US address.
I would have liked to have used my AU balance but could not select it as an option.

@inabeyance: It's pretty straight forward. Just log into your account, go to the US store, use your normal paypal and enter a US address in and it all works. Make sure you use your 28 degrees or alike to avoid any bank fees for an international transaction.

A lot of places seem to be doing 24/11 - 29/11 as their sales window, but I couldn't spot anything on ms or xbox stores, or even on major nelson to indicate when it might end.

I used my xbox live account and PayPal and purchased the game. However I added a US address to both 12 months ago But can't exactly remember how. I used borderlinx to get the us address.
Played the demo on PC and enjoyed it, so grabbed this offer, cheers. I'm really liking the game so far, played through the first dungeon and explored a bit.
Great price OP! For those that find the US thing too tricky, or don't like using the fake address you can get it for $24.72 in the Aussie Microsoft store. Not as cheap but still half price.
