Car Tyre Recommendation - 235/45R18 - Honda Accord Euro 2011

I'm currently looking for a new set of tyres for my car. I've just got the car a week ago and I've noticed that the tyres are starting to crack.

The size of the tyres are 235/45R18.

Currently I'm considering Bridgestone Adrenaline R003's but I've been told they may not last too long.

Looking for tyres that are quiet, provide decent grip and last a reasonable amount of k's?

Budget is $1,000 for a set.

  • What car is it? "Bridgestone Adrenaline R003" should offer more performance (more grip) but might not last long.
Also what is your definition of reasonable amount of km's?

    • The car is a 2011 Honda Accord Euro. reasonable k's is about 40,000? The last set seems to be from the manufacturer which is sitting at 52,000ks

      • +1

The Bridgestone Adrenaline R003 should give you about 40k kms.
also there seems to be an buy 3 get one free offer from Bridgestone at the moment with makes it attractive.
Personally I prefer Pirelle PZero but they are more expensive.
Michelin Pilot sport 3 might be another choice at reasonable price and low road noise.

  • I get more mileage out of Kumhos, but they may have more road noise

  • If you're a Costco member try them for a price on the Bridgestones.
They'll include free rotations, puncture repairs and they inflate them with Nitrogen.

  • Was literally in the same boat as you about 2 weeks ago. Your correct about the RE003's wearing quicker (tread wear rating is 220, the higher the number the longer lasting it should be - NOT in all cases though). IMO the're more suited for track/sporty cars. You should consider FALKENS ecorun (treadwear 320, perfect for daily & AUS conditions), they too also have buy 3 get one free deal like bridgestone. Ultimately depends on your budget and driving style, if your bit of a lead foot then expect the re003s to have a shorter lifespan (30K). And like others have said, Costco has the best price ATM but don't offer wheel alignments however offer free rotation @ 10k mark ,free gas refill and free tyre puncture repair. I found Bridgestone SELECT the cheapest for REOO3 tyres with Wheel alignment.(KTAS apparently price matches now) SHOP AROUND for quotes you'll be surprised.

Also thumbs up for Michelin Pilot Sport 3 and surprisingly Dunlop SP Sport series.

  • Pilot Sport 3. I had a set on my Euro (cl9) and got decent use out of them (60,000km) and never found them wanting. I replaced them yesterday with Bridgestone S001 and the Bridgeys seem to be slightly noisier in normal use. Both were far better than the kuhmo ecstar whatever's which were on the car when I got it. Screeching things which had terrible braking performance when you needed it.

Tyres shouldn't be cracking on a newish car.

It's almost likely to be tyre shine that car yards love to put on by the bucketload.
