Holy cow. I just bought a Cintiq! Thanks so much OP. Christmas present sorted for me! Conversion at present came to about AUD$602 on XE.com for me.

I'd been eying off the cheaper knockoffs (Huion etc) which sell for about this price for the slightly bigger models, so this was a no-brainer.

I've come close to splurging on tablets recently (Lenovo Miix, Surface Pro 3) but don't really need another tablet/portable PC.

For a pro-grade, dedicated drawing device, this has got to the best option for the money.

    • Hi, it says EUR 469.90 for me, am I doing something wrong?

VAT will be removed at checkout, bring the price to €391.58 + delivery.

        • Thank you so much O O!

  • I'm a bit out of date. Is this a tablet that can also perform the same pen pad / control functions of the old wacom stylus? Like when it was basically a very sensitive mouse pad with a stylus?

    • +1

Not a standalone tablet like Surface Pro or iPad. Wacom do sell those, but for much more money. And not like the old drawing tablets where you use a pen instead of a mouse.

This is more like a second screen for your PC/Mac. It just happens to be a drawing tablet. So you'd move your Photoshop (etc) window over to this and draw away. The downside is that you're tethered to a PC.

      • It's an advantage being seperate from a tablet, not a disadvantage.

        • Agreed. Get to upgrade PC separately or move it from work to home etc.

Just a disadvantage in that you can't use it on the go.

      • thanks, makes sense. Sounds not that much more useful for photo edits than the old ones (which were great), but I can see how drawers would be keen.

  • Single mum here. Daughter going into uni next year for games art design, possibly dual with graphic design.

Jump here now, or are Wacom dumping 13HD in favor of newer stuff? Will these reduce in price? Our Xmas will be end of Jan. when she & her bro return from visiting rellies.

Opinions? She currently is working with the Intuous Pro small & doing well w/it.

Any art students here who can chime in?

    Ta!

    • They have actually just launched their next range - the Cintiq Pro. It is a substantial upgrade on this.

For me, as an amateur/hobby artist, this deal is more than I'll probably ever need, and at an awesome price. The new one has an RRP of AUD$1399, so that also helped me settle on this.

    • After some thought, I'd assume that someone going to uni would be better served by a laptop that doubles as a mobile drawing tablet. Something like the Surface Pro 4 or Surface Book. Or iPad Pro I guess.
