some great prices, but im too used to consoles now

    • They're too limiting! Great for action games but what about everything else?

Nearly bought TF2 a few hours ago and decided to wait till my internet's off-peak time kicked in.
I refreshed the page later to buy it and found it at less than half price. I would have been so cut if I found this deal an hour after I bought it. :)

I'm now 4gb through the install and reaching speeds of 2.1 megabytes per second, it's a huge download but you can get great speeds.

edit: I'm downloading the new OS X version, am really happy for steam support for OS X.

    • Same! I've wanted it since it was announced for Mac, and was tempted by the lowered price yesterday ($13US) but decided to wait. Saw this post just now and jumped on it for the $6.79US price. I'll download it tomorrow night when my offpeak quota kicks in, was just too good a price to resist getting now! :D :D :D

  • I'm definetely grabbing the X-Com pack. always passed on it before, but now I think, stuff it :D

  • wth is going on with steam, suddenly so many deals!?

    • it is the "perils of summer sale" from (US) June 24 to July 4. Not sure it needs a post every single day of the sale, but looks like it's going that way!

      • They have also one day only sale.

        • Yes, for every day of the perils of summer sale (there are reduced prices over the period, as well as further reduced 'specials' every day).

          • @Evil-Elmo: Do they always have this every year? =\

            • +2

@cwongtech: or more often! :) Last big one like this was at Christmas. They also have their usual weekly specials throughout the year in addition to sparodic events (such as 'EA week' which discounted EA titles recently).

They are great value, but when the sale goes for over a week I personally feel a new bargain post every day is not warranted… I would prefer a single post which gets updated each day. Still, the posts get the votes, so maybe I'm in the minority :)

If it isnt cool, i wont post the deals each day. Just figured alot of people dont browse steam daily, new to posting deals so not 100% sure on the etiquette yet. Didnt even think of just posting one an updating, but 4 more days and its over. No huge sales till christmas i would think.

  • I just bought GTA4 and the pack with Borderlands/Bioshock

  • +1

I just brought street fighter 4, saw at EB games for $40 on PS3 but for $12 I can't really complain :)

    • You should probably look at Super street fighter 4 if you have a ps3/360. This is the original street fighter 4. Super Street Fighter 4 has not been released for PC as yet (and may never be).

  • so many games!

  • +1

I like it when you guys pot up the sales everyday, so keep it up imo. I am at work and can't check steam…but i can check ozbargain ;)

  • If you're able to buy from the US steam store, GTA IV is only $5US.

    they probably racist against Australians.

    • "they probably racist against Australians."

I can understand that completely, since "Australian" is a race and all.

    • you can't buy from the US or UK store if you don't have a credit card from those countries and you need to change your address to match. It's not that much more to buy from the Aus store. Biggest issue is not being able to get the proper version of Left for Dead and other censored games!

  • Just got my self X-COM and TF2
Really want to try out those games, and now the price is right why not!
    But Zzzzz…. big files -___-"
    6GB for TF2 and 2GB for X-COM

    • Just to add an additional good piece of info.
If you are with any WAIX (WA only) network (i.e. Amnet, Internode, etc), Steam downloads for free!
I was worried about my bandwidth for nothing!
Now just have to worry about whether or not I have enough HD space :)

  • 16gb for GTAIV!? Ouch.

    • Yea - I just bought it but hope the 'steamwatch' is working to force it to download via internode only (so it doesn't count). Good thing is that I've discovered the "games backup" so I'll make sure I do that so if I need to re-install I don't have to wait 13 hours to download it all again!!

  • GTAIV is at a brilliant price for a recent game.

  • great deal!
