World Walker Men's Sandals (Licensed by Birkenstock) - $39.39 + $6.95 Postage

30

Sandals with comfortable and long-lasting cork base. It would be good if the store representative could confirm the brand and the country of production.

  • I bought a pair. However, they might not strictly be Birkenstocks, only "licensed by Birkenstock" whatever that means…

Sure i just stroll out in winter sporting socks and sandals, it a winning look

    • Good observation. I just noticed that the actual brand name is World Walker. The COTD product title seem somewaht misleading. I will change the heading of this post.

  • omg, sizes are so big

    • you know what they say..

  • where does it say its German-made….

  • Are these suitable to wear with socks if I pull my pants up really high to keep them from touching the ground?

If you live in mainland China. Yes

      • I know what you mean ;-)

        • explain?

    • As long as you find some reasonably priced knee high bus driver socks

      • I could probably use suspenders to wear my shorts high enough so I wouldn't have to use my fly to go to the bathroom.

  • Bought some today, noticing some above comments I did a google search and found some womens sandals of the same brand, and licensed by Birkenstock. Good reviews for this brand from what it seems (made in china)see —> http://www.qvc.com/qic/qvcapp.aspx/view.2/app.detail/params.…

That's just one link for many sandal styles with good reviews on that site..

World Walkers are sold as "exclusives" in Harris Scarfe. I bought a womens pair from them last summer. I have owned Birkenstocks previously and found them to be equally as good at half the price.

Edit: Just checked the COTD site, their SRP of $117 is extremely misleading as that is the RRP of Birkenstocks not World Walkers!! I think the usual price of them at Harris Scarfe is $69.95 and they were on special several times for $59.95 and once at $49.95, however, I think the $49.95 price was only for the womens ones. I also bet their supplier is Harris Scarfe! LOL

    • It's just one of those over-inflated RRPs which have very little to do with reality and real costs of producing goods. The common price for the original Birkenstocks are around $170 or $180 (see here: http://www.getprice.footgear.com.au/pages/product.php?Produc…), so RRP $117 for a "licensed" product seem ok - of course, it's still way over-inflated!

The link you've provided are for leather Birkenstocks, World Walkers are not leather. A better comparison would be http://www.getprice.footgear.com.au/pages/product.php?Produc… which are $139.95, however, that is an over inflated price too as Costco had Birko-Flor Birkenstocks recently for $59.95. I know that only helps people in Melbourne.

SRP, however, they have covered themselves well as SRP is "Suggested Retail Price" which of course is rubbish as Harris Scarfe clearly disproves that.

EDIT: Cost of them is $39.95 on COTD.

  • bought one, the deal is ok.hope it's the same quality as genuine Brikenstocks.
