This is an amazing book that I purchased a few years ago from Book Depository. Honestly, it's the only bodybuilding book you need. Thanks OP for the deal, may buy this as a Christmas gift for someone.

    • So you'd recommend this over Starting Strength?

      • +1

I can't say I recommend this over SS only because I havent read it. What i do like about this book is the photos and descriptions of exercises. There's plenty of detail about individual lifts, not so much detail on diet but a lot of info on posing and contests. It's a nice reference to have just to brush up on some detail on lifts I want to do. I refer to this book when jotting down what I want to do at the gym for the week.

        • Okay, thank you for the feedback mate.

Great insights and photos from the golden era of bodybuilding, would make an excellent coffee table book!

    • I couldn't see it online… but assume its instore australia wide

  • The difference between body building & powerlifting

    :)

    • Huh?

    • Yeah I don't get it either… You mean powerlifters are fat mofos?

      • Not in their wildest dreams could Ronnie Coleman or Dorian Yates come close to lifting that

        • I'm confident that both of those chaps would've dreamt of deadlifting such weights.

Here's Ronnie easily deadlifting 363 kg for 2 reps: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uYm7SJn_6ZI

Bodybuilding and powerlifting are entirely different sports. But a top tier bodybuilder would perform far better in a powerlifting competition than vice versa. A top tier powerlifter would be laughed off the stage of a bodybuilding competition.

The most successful bodybuilder became an international super star and Governor of California.

The most successful powerlifter became ???

        • Ah right, yeah no chance :)

        • @Scrooge McDuck:
LOL. A measly 363kg. Wouldn't even qualify for the 100kg weight class, let alone 125kg+

  • Thanks OP! Just grabbed a copy from Target Chermside and although marked at $30, scanned up for $16 at the checkout.
