  • Does the import duty negate the inbound-GST of 10% that would be charged since it's value is over $1000 AUD?

    • You will be charged the import duty regardless, so it's still a saving.

  • +1

Very sexy. Congrats to whoever buys one of these and has a use for it.

  • Okay, since I am very interested in this can someone tell me what would the likely issues be with buying this from France? I'm mainly concerned with differences in power since this would the be the first time I've grabbed a major piece of plug-in to the wall hardware from overseas.

    • AFAIK French uses 230V power (we use 230V too) but their plug has two cylindrical legs. So you'll definitely need a plug converter. Another issue is French use AZERTY keyboard instead of our QWERTY, but since there will be a high chance it will use virtual keyboard (i.e. On screen) so there shouldn't really be an issue unless it's impossible to change locale.

      • Good to know about the power and although I believe the screen does have an OSD keyboard nobody really uses it. And given this is $1500 less than RRP I think I could afford to get a cheap wireless keyboard to use.

        • Wow it must've been crazily expensive before.

If nothing stops you then I'll say just PULL THE TRIGGER!

        • @songford:

Doing it now, kind of wondering what AmazonGlobal Eclair shipping is.

        • @Astrophobos:
No idea as well. I bought the ASUS Flip laptop from O O's last deal from Amazon UK, and stick to the cheapest delivery option available. I don't even think Eclair was available as an option. I guess there will be some special consideration regarding it since this stuff is YUUUUGE.

        • @Astrophobos: A quick Google indicates that Eclair is simply the fastest shipping option.

  • Awesome post. Thanks O O for sharing these. I picked up the 13HD that you posted, and am really excited for it to arrive.

I couldn't imagine working on this 27" monster. I am sitting in front of a sweet Dell 27" screen now, and think I'd be overwhelmed if the whole thing was a Wacom drawing surface!
