I just bought an item off ebay last night worth $305 at around 11:55pm and used the 10% off sitewide coupon C10YAY which said expires 11:59pm. The cart showed the discount of $30.50 right before I clicked purchase, however upon checking the order details and paypal statement, the voucher wasn't there as though I never applied it and I was charged the full amount of $305. I emailed ebay customer service and still waiting for a response. What can I expect to happen? Will they refund me the difference? I've never had any problems before with similar vouchers.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
Edit: received an email from ebay saying the voucher was not applied however they will credit the 10% discount back into my paypal within 10 business days. Can't complain.
Check your online bank/credit card statement to see how much was actually debited.
There is some well documented funkiness with the way the discount is displayed in PayPal. You'll have to check the comments of old posts for the evidence, my googlefu is letting me down at the moment.
