They are still expensive as f

Are the 5 pack briefs $7.5 again?

    Can I kick it?

    • +6

      Yes you can

I've got the gift, gonna stick in the goal. It's time to move ya boday!

I found bonds socks to be of inferior quality.

My bottom of feet keep getting small clothes attached after the end of the day (after 30 washes!)

    • +4

I found bonds socks to be of inferior quality.

They've really gone downhill the last year or two… They've probably changed to a cheaper manufacturer.

    • I used to buy explorer for roughly 3 years but changed to other brands over the last 2 years.

      • Just wondering what brands do you buy now? Hubby uses Explorer but is finding it not that great after a while so looking to switch.

        • Use to wear explorers but changed to bamboo socks. Think they are much better and up here you always get sweaty feet so you need good socks.
I use blue steel socks, they are the same guys that do the safety boots.

        • @DarwinBoy: Blue Steel used to be good but have also gone down hill in the last few years.

        • Try Boody bamboo socks. I prefer the cushioned work socks, feels great and no more stinky feet

        • I went a bit upper market nowadays so i usually buy himalaya and karrimor.

    • Which socks are superior?

      • Many. However, what is your budget and what type of socks are you seeking?

        • Ankle socks. Happy to spend the same amount as full priced bonds. But may stretch the budget a bit for some quality socks.

        • @tren:
If you want socks for sports, then I would recommend spending more money on socks that have some wool in them. I've bought at least a dozen pairs of Darn Tough socks and couldn't be happier with them. I'll never buy cotton sports socks again. Socksaddict have a 25% sale on for maybe a few more hours.

      • For business socks, I use "all day socks", as they're sold pretty much everywhere that bonds are sold, so I suspect they might be made by them, but rebranded.

Only get the solid colours though. The ones that are decorated have too many seams where they change pattern

Although I now wear bonds ankle socks, I wouldn't recommend them. I bought a few pairs at once. Opened them up. Then realised the ankle socks had a perfect hole in them (where the machine had run out of thread). They replaced them, and sent a few pairs, but still, it took time

        • Is there a place to buy cheap Happy Socks?

        • @SirNed:

          There is only 1 Bond..

          Nope…

  • +14

Damn, was hoping for half price treasury bonds.

  • +1

Just wondering if anyone have ever bought any bonds products at RRP?

    • +6

That's probibly why they had to change to a cheaper manufacturer

      • +1

Too bad they didn't change their prices when they went offhsore…

    • They always have those 40% or 50% off sales…

  • +2

My only dislike of bonds socks is the constant colour changing of the 3pk… i always end up with random odd socks… obviously for that reason…

I'll be grabbing 3 or 4 3pks this week nonetheless.

    • the colors on the sock also fade at a different rate too .. seems they use a different dye for the branding on the sock.

  • +1

I preferred the $5 Uniqlo boxers.

    • didnt see that deal, sounds great, is it still available?

      • +1

No, only during click frenzy. They have a sale at the moment but not sure about the discount level.

        • Even full price, they are many times better though

Why do supermarkets here sell undies?

Who in marketing decided we needed fresh undies next our fresh fruit and fresh vegetables?

    • +2

What's the problem with it? Seems like a popular product.

    • Tbh if you know what you're looking for, buying undies at woolies is fine

"We have to move our factories overseas to stay competitive. HAHA nah we have a monopoly and we will raise the price of everything five fold."

    • Looks like they've cut the price, not increased it.

      • They finished their move overseas in 2010, when their single trunks were $16, and now they are $20-25
So they've gone up about 25-30%
If we go by inflation, they should cost $18 now (not that wages keep up with inflation). They have actually raised the prices and boosted their profits since moving overseas. At the time they were $16 also, they justified them being such a high price because of the expensive cost of manufacturing in Australia.
Couldn't check prices further back, but I suspect the whole "we have to fire everyone in Australia" thing was a scam.

        • Only a fool would pay full price. So the real price is about $11. I don't know if they were regularly half price when they were made in Australia, though.

  • +1

I gave up on Bonds when Uni Qlo came to Australia. More than half the price for superior quality. Their socks are unreal as well.

    • -2

They may be better quality, I can't tell but at $10 per brief they are three times or more the price of bonds

      • +2

Where can you buy $3 Bonds boxer briefs?

        • Maybe the outlet when it's on extra sale?

        • I said briefs, not boxer briefs.

          I find them too hot.

  • -2

I price scanned some yesterday -> A 3 pack of socks and it said $14.95. No prices on anything and the scanner didn't say that was a discount.. If that was with the discount applied, then there's no way I'd buy!

    • +1

      Sale starts today.

      • Yea should have date scanned at the same time.. 😀

Guess we have all done that at sometime

  • I think I need to change all my work socks. In the past given my laziness, I just buy bulk pairs of black in all the same style/brand etc. so it saves time matching and finding lost socks. I was looking for Bamboo socks but looks like Woolworths do not have the Bonds Bamboo socks.

Are there any differences between Bamboo socks? any suggestions on what bulk pairs to buy?

    • The only bamboo socks I've seen have been pretty thick, so they'd be suitable only if you wear work boots. If you're wearing business shoes, then you'd probably have to stick to wool. I think I've tried the Explorer bamboo socks which ended up expanding and being much too large to wear. The other few have been from Bamboo Textiles Australia and they've held up quite nicely.
