Samsonite 72 Hours 55cm Cabin Spinner $157.50 Delivered @ LuggageGear (1.5kg Cabin Bag)

TCLUGGAGE

I posted this deal a while ago and it's now back on with a slightly lower price. Just in time for the holiday season. Great cabin bag and ultra light with the convenience of being a spinner. Hard to beat this for $157.50 delivered, which is a new low from what I've seen.

Make the most of your cheap flight cabin allowance! No point paying for a cheap cabin bag and finding out it weighs 3.5Kg. When your carry on allowance is 7Kg you don't want to use half of that up on the actual bag. You do still need to be careful, it's easy to pack over 12kgs into this because the internal space is very efficient.

I've had this for two years and 150+ flights so I can safely say it's a great bag, it has been through hell and dragged many kilometres. Only hiccup was a flight when I had to check it in as it was overweight. Wheel was damaged with a big gouge in the plastic and damage to the axle, bag still rolled, but wasn't perfect. I was able to buy a genuine replacement wheel assembly for $15 from a local Samsonite repair.

Also available in Navy for $161.10

Credit to ArbitRambler for posting the previous deal which reminded me to check

Got a couple of these last time. Has completely changed the way we travel as we do a lot of trips without checked baggage so need to pack a lot into carry-ons. With the silly new 7kg rules and the even sillier departure gate size & weight checks (especially Jetstar and especially over holiday seasons) these are priceless! Can't recommend them enough.

I was going to ask as I remember you bought a pair of these last time. Good to hear they're going well. I still love mine.

Re Jetstar, only time my carry-on luggage has been checked for weight. Smug Jetstar rep weighing it and then telling me I'd need to pay some ridiculous price (~$70) to check it in. Then watching the shit eating grin disappear from his face as he realised my ticket included a check-in bag, priceless. I guess they had the last laugh by damaging the bag, asshats.

      • +1 for re-introducing the term asshat to my vocabulary!!

      • Ha, yeah. Silly thing is that they use the same 'Bag Check' sticker every time and put it around the handle so if you travel frequently you can easily just leave it on and they wouldn't bat an eyelid. If they were serious about policing the weight they should treat it seriously and develop a rigid weight/size policing system and/or charge people on a sliding scale. There are times when I don't even need to travel with 7kgs so do I get a discount? Of course not but why not?! Another problem I have with the system is if weight is sooo important then why not charge heavier people more to travel or give lighter people a discount? I've lost over 10kgs in the last year so it's pretty unfair they make all their passengers feel like criminals based on their carry-on bag weights. They're actually debasing their own policies! My 2c anyway :) 1st world problems I know!

  • Great Price! Not a bad little bag.
Although 2 of the 3 of these bags I own have had issues with wheels.
Poor wheel mechanism build quality. Warranty fixed them, just a pain to keep going back.

  • I am trying to buy the Navy Colour Samsonite 72 Hours 55cm Cabin Spinner but the system is showing $179.00 instead of $161.10.

THANKS for the help. Managed to get it down to $161.10. I'm not comfortable on checking out with this regarding insurance.

If opting out of insurance it says:

Please note that if you are not covered by insurance and your package is lost or damaged in transit, luggageGear does not accept responsibility or liability for any damage or loss.

I will give this deal a miss.

        • Pay with credit card. You should be covered either by the chargeback option or the credit card's insurance.

        • @ChickenTalon:

I prefer to buy online using paypal. Is this covered by paypal?

        • +1

          @2Jc:
Yes, I paid via PayPal too…. this is covered by PayPal if anything goes wrong. Moreover it's Google Trusted Store so got my order secured by them too.

        • @brighterthnsun:

Thanks Paid via PayPal as suggested.

  • I have the 50cm version and love it. It's not a spinner but still easy to manoeuvre and means it comes in at 105cm which is the limit for Virgin.

That's correct…. I got one too after getting positive reviews here.
      Thanks OP

  • I have the large version of this bag and while not as durable as their heavier bags it's still held up well afyer being checked in many times. As for the carry on its a no brainer.
