Ship about 7 to 10kg to California, cheap?

Is there any bloody way to do this, seriously? Even via sea mail? I can't find any piece that seems reasonable.

  • what do you define as 'cheap'?

  • What are your quotes so far?

  • what is your comparable for reasonable?

    • If air shipping a 2kg item in 7 days to Australia from the USA is like $40 for someone I know, why can't I get 7kg from Australia in 57 days under $100?

      Basically it's a scam everywhere :/

      • prices from USA to Aus is not comparable as it is not the same route
since there is a market for it
start up your own company and charge your reasonable price

        or

just find someone who is selling it in the states and ship it within the states it would probably be cheaper

        • Nah this is stuff only available to Aus.
I got a $72 quote from Auspost just now actually as you typed this, for 7kg via sea (months…) but …….. it's getting better but not great. I think 7kg is a poor estimate tho, I figure corned beef cans weigh 340gms content so the can must be 100 grams :/ I dunno.

Not many seem to offer sea to be honest.

        • @hamwhisperer:
intrigued, what is this thing that is not available in the market in USA but available in Aust

its generally not worth their (big shipping lines) time to mess around with these tiny quantities for sea freight
the middle men would deal with it and they need to make their cut

the more hands that handle = more costs

        • @humdingaling: A wide variety of corned beef (it's mostly shit in the US, apparently)

  • You will probably find that most places will use volumetric weight and not the physical weight.

    What are the dimensions?

    • I want to send my girlfriends crazy Filipino mum about 15 to 20 different cans of corned beef (no, I'm not joking)

  • +2

    What is love?

  • I'm guessing around $10 per kg for whichever higher between volume weight or dead weight with DHL express.

Use Ship2Anywhere but login first with your eBay ID to get cheaper.

    • Can you elaborate a little further? Why would my Ebay ID help with that company? Cheers.

      • Ship2anywhere gives discounted rate if you login with eBay as if you are selling on eBay and use their service.

  • Any other suggestions? :(

    • I don't know much about this, if time is an issue here, you can try to look for those moving to overseas company who uses different rate than those DHL.
