Great prices! During the school term though 😢

  • +1

Oooh so tempting but such a long flight will make it so painful with 2-8 hour lay overs in Kuala Lumpur. I miss 10 hour direct flights :(

    • +5

Do what I did, take a bus to KL Sentral and enjoy a nice meal and visit. Then come back to the KLIA2.

    • +2

There's an airside food court in KLIA2. Passable food and you don't have to pass immigration. Or you could buy a few hours rest in Sama Sama 2 airside hotel with your savings.

      • +1

Or you could get a capsule at Capsule By Cabin. Pretty basic but lot cheaper than Sama Sama 2 and fine for a layover.

  • +5

Baggage charges are $160 extra on top because the flights aren't direct…

    • +2

Not because of the stopover but because of checked in luggage. Standard ploy to make prices look cheaper, quote for carry-on only.

  • +4

Seeing all these cheap Japan flights make me so tempted to just book the flight lol. Really wanna go but have no one to go with with :( [never been out of the country before, let traveled alone, despite nearing late 20's]

Any deals for a traveling friend?

    • +17

Just nut up and go by yourself, Pepsii. That way you can do what you want, see what you want, whenever you want.

      • +3

Yeah, solo travelling is a thing.

    • +13

Do it Pepsii. You'll come back as Coke.

Mate, like smokenmirraz said, take the chance and travel alone. I go places around aus and overseas alone. Trust me, the freedom is one of the best things. Having said that though, there will definitely be times when you want some company, but you can always make up for it by making new friends at the hostel/bar etc. I'm considering going as well right now, so if we time it right maybe we can travel-bud

      • +1

I'm also considering this deal and would be interested in some company. Shoot me a message?

    • +1

Better on your own to get experience before doing it with a friend. I did it when I was 26; first time, and it was great!

    • +1

Of all the places i've travelled to Japan is the place I would happily travel to alone. It's extremely safe, the people are very friendly and willing to help (even though many only know very basic english) and there is SO much to do. You would have an amazing time. Stay in a hostel and make some friends :D

I adjust came back from a solo trip to Japan, early to mid twenties female. Did a solo trip. I was in the same predicament as you. Best trip I've ever made. You'll love it. No doubt. I'm rearing to go back asap.

I made a a post about it on ozbargain not long ago. Maybe check it out :)

      • Haha it's because I read your thread that it made me want to go! Doesn't help that I haven't even been on a plane before (sad I know, been stuck in melb for as long as I can remember :P) Now that I finished uni, have a job and got some money to burn, I thought I'll experience traveling for once!

But yeah your thread have a lot of good info.. maybe I might just book this flight after all and wing it there! Thanks everyone!

        • That's amazing to hear! Do itttt. I'm from melbs too, so if you ever want to chat about what to do there or how I felt I'd be up for that :)

  • To whom it may concern, my comrades and I are looking for flights between March and April during the Cherry Blossom season. Anything for sale during these dates? Your help would be appreciated.

    • +1

It's high season, during Easter break as well

    • I'm also looking for flights around April please help!

  • Good price if you want to see SApporo Snow Festival, just need to train or fly to Sapporo from Tokyo/Osaka.

    • Or for skiers/boarders looking to get to Niseko. Flights to Sapporo instead of Tokyo are on sale too but yeah baggage costs and layover time hurt this deal

  • Wish theyd do a GC to Fukuoka route.

    • +1

Same, but Mel to Fukuoka. Have traveled around Japan but really want to check out Fukuoka.

      • +1

Yeah Fukuoka is great, lotta asian foreigners there though. I lived there for a year

      • if you have JR Pass it's very easy. approx 5-6 hour Shinkansen ride from Osaka to Hakata station.

    • Brisbane to Fukuoka with Cathay via Honkers?

  • +1

11 hour stopover in KL, ouch!

    • At least KL airport has places to sleep. Not the worst place to be stuck, and worth it for the price IMO.

  • When will the deal end?

  • has anyone booked this?

someone mentioned baggage charges, is it still worth it considering the additional price? what would a more standard/convienient return trip cost?
