Are you going to start your own store?

    • You Brodened the deal!

  • +1

Oh man, I've just bought a house that has a very low carport that's a bit rusty.
This would be perfect. But the other carport is perfectly serviceable and could be repaired. Oh geez.

    • +4

      Congratulations on the new house.

  • +4

    Pricing error?

Knowing Harvey Normans they will not honour it

    • Am thinking that it probably is a price error but bought one anyway

  • +3

Why not buy two plus a $6 item, and get your $100 cashback as well!

    • Probably be cancelled because you paid via AMEX

      • +2

Got the Amex email before the HN order confirmation. Will see how we go.

        • Tell me when you get the cancellation notice

  • +2

At this price, buy 2+ and use them as a pergola/verandah. No way you'll get this much steel for under $150. Price error FTW.
    Gerry wouldn't stand for that!

    • +3

He'll call it professional hackers at it again

  • I wonder how thick the steel is?

Probably nasty Chinese thin steel. Hard to tell from the pics.

  • Dont we need to get a permit for car ports?

    • Read Faqs (Link provided in OP)

    • +5

Its a temporary metal tent if they ask.

    • -5

You most certainly do! anyone that tells you it's a temporary structure or it's under a certain value so it's exempt does not know what they are talking about.

      • +6

There is no blanket answer, this is very much dependent on state and/or council.

        • Please provide evidence of this? anyone who is confused such as @djkelly69 should read Building Regulations 2006 - Schedule 8.

Which is national to Australia therefore I would imagine anyone looking at a delivery from Harvey Norman would be subject to these Regulations.

Please provide an informed comment or it may lead to people being fined and issued a Building Notice and/or Order by their relevant Municipality.

I personally do not want that for my ozB community.

        • +6

@yacman: See here for an example of what my state/territory says about it. In short, generally a carport in the ACT does not require building or development approval.

I am not sure why you are assuming the building regulations for your state apply Australia-wide.

As I said above, this varies from state to state, so a blanket "Yes it needs approval" is not correct.

        • +3

@djkelly69: I stand corrected, my information is Victoria Wide only, apologies. At least we informed the community tho.

Although I have a feeling none of us professionals will actually receive the carport :(

  • everything is out of stock anyway - so might be last 2 at this price

    • delivery @ $49

  • Cost you more than that to get it home!

  • How do u bolt it to the ground?

    • +9

      With a bolt tool

    • +2

      Q. Does my garden shed come with fixtures to bolt to a concrete slab?
      A. Spanbilt kitset buildings include a bolt down kit and masonry anchors for attaching the structure to a concrete slab as standard so you don’t need another trip to buys any extra bits from the hardware store

      (from above FAQ)

    • +36

Weigh it down with my wife's unreasonable expectations. Then that little puppy ain't movin for nuthin.

      • +2

Best comment of the year. Can very much relate.

      • haha, but They only help to bring down the man's hope & happiness; would not work on anything else!

  • How much do you guys think to get this installed?

    • Can be done by any handyman out there - perhaps use airtasker to get prices. ~$100ish?

      • +2

lol, yeah, thats' to get him to show up, for the initial quote, i think minimum to put something like this up is going to be at least a half a day…
so probably 400 odd bux - and that may still be conservative… depending on how much work is required… add is gone now anyways.

    • +1

do it yourself if you have a brain, otherwise pay an overpriced handyman with no qualification.

  • +2

yeh you guys are 90% not getting this, worth a shot I guess, anyone here with experience knows harvey are usually dodgy scumbags with honoring online sales.

    • Absolutely, their website just crashed, lol

      • +3

Maybe the server was stored under one of these

        • LOL :) They are really dodgy, they should make things bit more affordable for people

        • +1

I see you have much to learn young yaren

        • +1

@Yaren24: They are the rip off scammers of the Retail industry, and when it hurts their business they complain to governments to do smoething aka GST 10% tax for online purchases in 2017.

        • @McCree: :)

  • can't get it to add to cart….:-(

    • +1

      get a bigger cart!

      • Costco!

  • +1

    Pricing error I would presume:

  • Link no longer works. Was hoping to get the $100 amex deal. Wonder if AMEX will still give you a $100 cash even if orders cancelled.

    • +1

Yeah the work experience kid is gonna get slapped for this.

  • Would like to stick two of these out the back as a cheap undercover patio. Can't beat that price. Not expecting HN to honour it though…

Edit: Site has died. Gerry Harvey has been OzBargained!

    • Had the same thought, was going to build a gym in my back yard.

  • wow close to 2000 clicks in 50mins, Well done everyone

    • and still rising, people live in hope it will magically re-appear.

  • +12

    Dear Buyer,

Due to over-whelming orders we are unable to provide this for you

We will give you a refund, please do not post our deals on oz bargains as Mr Harvey doesn't like it, we all get bashed if we sell at a loss.

    Thank you
    The good people

    • Hmm… I received a similar email signed from the Bad People. They wrote 'no refund' with a 'hahaha' at the end.

    • If you talk with their staff they're always selling at a loss, it's their number one bulls*t line for any price match or clearance sale.

  • +2

    The professionals strike again

  • +1

Well done professionals! Love the work

  • +1

Sorry, we are down for maintenance. We will be back online shortly. :D

  • -6

    Ordered 7.

    • +1

      When will it be cancelled?

  • I actually need one of these! Would be awesome if I get it!

  • +11

Plot twist: Gerry actually does this on purpose to:

    1) Annoy ozbargainers
    2) Get on the front page of ozbargain regularly without having to actually offer good prices.

    • +3

      3) Get on the headlines of leading newspapers to attract customers

      • +2

        4) Back down on his claims
        5) Too late government will impose a 10% fee soon.

        • +2

          6) Get paid for passing Metadata on to Spanbilt

  • Managed to get one in my cart an hour ago but I can't select a store for collection. Not looking good but 'oh well'.

    • Yeah its a chrome thing - works in IE though

      • Ah well, missed out. Hope HN honours the orders that made it though!

  • Ordered one 2 hours ago. No cancellation yet. Hopefully will be able to fulfill as this is exactly what I need for a 3rd carport on my new house.

    Thanks OP!

    • +3

      lol…carport much?

      • +2

you've obviously never owned a blerg monkey before.

  • Ok, since this will be a price error, where can one buy a something similar for the best possible price?

    • Here but not sure if it is the best price.

      • +1

Man, I miss oo.com.au (before they were bought out by ozsales)

  • Search: carport
1 products found for "carport". There are no products matching the selection.

Yeah, looks like they pulled it quickly and not properly. Very unlikely anyone will get it. Good luck though, I would probably have taken the gamble if I had seen it earlier.

  • +3

Cancelled by HN: "Unfortunately the product was priced incorrectly on the website."

    • I didn't receive any email

    • +9

But aren't all of their products priced incorrectly on their website?

      • +1

Only when too many ozbargaining profesionals buy and DDOS the website

  • +1

Proper single skillion carport supply and install is a round 3 to 4K with Ozzie RHS steel and Ozzie Colorbond roofing and guttering. The building code of Australia applies to the whole of Australia, as long as where you building the carport complies with the size, height, boundary limitations and land ratios, it is possible to be an legally build structure. Hope this helps everyone(I work for a patio/carport building company)

    • +1

      In English?

  • HN to webmaster "Tell me how in God's name my CEO discount purchase price made it onto Ozbargain?"

  • +1

Just got an email my order has been cancelled as it was 'priced incorrectly on the website'

Refund in the next 1-2 days….

  • Why else would any one on Ozbargain shop at Harvey Norman if they didn't have fake prices to draw us in?

  • +1

Just got a call from my Harvey Norman store to say the supplier can't supply the stock and my order will be refunded

    • +2

Gerry Harvey himself should be forced to make these calls.

I wouldn't be surprised if this was a ploy to (temporarily) nicely lift his current assets ($) in bank accounts for his next Chairman's address' via PowerPoint.

      • I can't tell if this is a serious comment or not.

        • a bit tongue in cheek, but then again think about it:

Need data for sales from 'Non Christmas' period
(Guess) Current figures at $490,000 for the month
Use dodgy Gerry Harvey tactics to collect 10k+ in money to HN account for a few days
          Profit!

          ;)

        • @rawm: item was out of stock, when I first accessed the page. I was about to close tab, then I thought I should try adding it to the cart. Guess what.. I was able to click and click by making backorder. I don't think there was any tactic. Anyone would have thought item is out of stock and wouldn't have bothered to post it. :)

        • @Jimmy007: is ur item being delivered?

        • @Turd: why would I get special treatment? Order cancelled

        • @Jimmy007: ahh bad luck!!!

        • +1

@Turd: only if I kept it to myself, I might have had the chance of getting it honored lol

        • -1

          @Jimmy007:

True , I recently kept something to my self and it was delivered so it paid off
