Found this crazy deal while looking for travel around early Jan.
Bali to Melbourne for as low as $51! This is booking through the Jetstar website directly.
There's a bunch of dates in January with these prices, so play around with the dates.
The flight actually only seems to cost $9(!), with the rest of the fare being taxes.

Melbourne to Bali via Jetstar (Return): $261, 23 - 29 Jan 2017 @ IWantThatFlight. Same flights except via Kiwi.com whereas this seems to be cheaper via Jetstar direct on the leg back.

Correct - however, if you wanted to travel over the Christmas period and came across the insanely high fares, at least a return leg being so dirt cheap can make the overall journey not too bad for that period. It would greatly impact the total cost of a journey even if the first leg cost 2x or 3x more than normal.

How did you get to that page? This is crazily cheap. This must be from Jetstar Indonesia so I guess you are browsing from Bali :)
Nope. I did via the Jetstar Aussie site, but the currency was showing in IDR anyway because I think the source was an Indonesian city. Book via Jetstar's website directly, or follow my Google Flights link in the post. Unfortunately, Jetstar's website doesn't append date and other queries into the URL for me to copy and paste. I booked it for the 2nd of Jan, but I saw a few other dates available too.

Beat the purpose of flying on the cheap. "Caught with drugs" can be an expensive business over there.
There are still a few dates left in early January for that price, coming home however is not that cheap
