I was a little surprised the other day when a mate told me that Toll wanted to know his vehicle registration number along with his drivers licence. Anyone know why they would ask for a rego? He missed a parcel delivery and went to collect it at the depot.
Actually yes, he does have a locked gate when not at home…. and the Toll collection depot is also enclosed in a gate.
Seems likely that it's so they can authorise his car to enter the gate at the Toll depot.
Probably a security thing, to make sure the person collecting the parcel is legitimate?
What if the person gave out false registration details… how are they able to check this?
It's to give everyone a false sense of security.
What is really does is just inconvenience customers and does nothing to stop thieves and fraudsters.

was this collection location in a gated property? it's not uncommon to log visitors and vehicles for security reason. some places are more strict than others.
