I was looking and adding item in a cart, they were all saying "further 50% off" and showing the discount in cart.
Now the discount has disappeared and I don't see it on the sites pages either.

Yeah it's a bugger. Shipping is a lot but the prices of some designer clothes and shoes was good.
Now it's accessories it isn't such a deal for me.
The shipping is expensive, but it's generally similar no matter the quantity purchased. If only one item I use Shipitto forwarding, US shipping is far far more reasonable, then elect a cheap shipping option to forward onto Aus. Eg. $10 US shipping from Barneys then $10 air mail international to Australia.
so total shipping is $20 if I use shipitto?
Depends on the weight of the item, but just as an example I purchased a tee shirt and shipping was $6.95 usd to Shipitto then used economy airmail from there to Aus and it was under $10. Also if you join 'Shoprunner' they give you complimentary 2 day shipping within USA from a range of department stores, not sure if barneys is one of them, but pretty sure Nordstrom and Sacs and Neiman Marcus are. Check the website to be sure tho!

Bought a Barneys men's bag at Woodbury commons in the USA. It was reduced 50% already and further reduced by 30% or so at the time. Best purchase I've ever made. Their house brand is quality.
holy crap, one item (skirt) was AUD$47 in shipping costs, skirt was AUD$48 , so nearly $100 total. Not much of a bargain, maybe some other items are OK.
