How Do I Actually sign an AmEx Supplementary card up for offers?

I can't for the life of me find where to register a new online account under my gf's name (the supplementary card holder).

I have a Qantas FF Premium Amex, and the supplementary card is a different card number and is my girlfriend's card.

On the online account, my card is visible as the primary, and I can save offers to it with no dramas, but I see no way to save offers to her card.

Amex Connect has some but not all of the deals I get offered, so that's not really what I'm after.

If I try to register a new account, with her card number, I get a note saying this card is already registered (under my account).

Then I try to deregister a card - it only showed by card number

Anyone had any experience with this?

  • Do you use the amexconnect site? You can either make her an account or you can add her card to your account too for easy management.

  • You could try using the manual links provided in (most) deals.

  • If it is a brand new card, you can register a separate logon. But since it kept saying 'already registered', the fastest way is to ring them up and let them sort it out for you; deregistering or tell you why it is saying that.

    Once that is done, she can register a proper account. After that, she may find offers magically appearing under her account :-)

  • Guys - looking through the big Statement credit thread…I just realized why I can't see ones like Westfield, Myer etc…the allocation is exhausted.

    • Oh, then ignore my comment above. I misunderstood - so you can see her card, you just could not save the offers.

  • I see no offers at all with a new free Qantas Amex. It's not that I don't see exhausted offers, there are none whatsoever.

    This is my second Amex through Amex if that makes a difference and the old card and old supp card both see offers fine.

    I've tried with a new online services account as well as adding it to my existing one.

    • It takes a while before they start appearing. How long ago did you receive this card?

      • Not long at all. A week?

        Do you know roughly how long?

        That explains it, I'll go ahead and activate all the supps I got too :)

        • I cannot remember exactly, but a week is not long. Should be fine, soon you will be seeing them.
