Panasonic Eneloop Family Pack (AC Charger, 6x AA & 4x AAA) K-KJ51MC64TA - $48.95 @ GraysOnline eBay, with Free Shipping

31

Hey everyone, just spotted this on eBay, via GraysOnline Australia's store. Free shipping too, which is nice, on everything I believe. While it's not the cheapest I've seen, it's currently better than anything PriceHipster or StaticIce could locate. Don't forget CashRewards!

  • Any charger that charges batteries in pairs is junk - this appears to be one of them. Most of these type of chargers don't even monitor battery voltage and will continue charging even when the battery is full. This is really bad for your premium rechargeable batteries.

Obviously not as cheap, but do yourself (and your batteries) a favour and buy a decent recharger:

While you're at it, these are same chemistry (same factory?) as eneloop blacks which have a higher capacity - ~2500mah vs ~2000mah:

    • I've got a nitecore D2 that charges batteries in pair. :(

      • Unless Nitecore have multiple chargers by that name, the Nitecore D2 charges and monitors each cell individually. That's good! The cheap chargers won't let you charge a single cell - they only work if you insert two batteries (or four). That's bad - unless the cells are perfectly matched, they will always overcharge/undercharge individual cells. Worse still, most of those cheap chargers don't even check the charge state of the batteries at all and run on a fixed charge timer, so they will overcharge and kill your batteries unless you completely drain them.

  • bought the Aldi charger and batteries today, wonder what they compare like to chinese eneloops ?

  • +2
  • Costco have a Panasonic 8 x AA 4 x AAA + charger for ~$30 atm

  • I bought some of ALDI's AA NiMH LSD cells the other day (these and the AAA's are a permanent line). seem to work fine.

Are they as sexy to look at as the Eneloops? No. But, at just $5.99 a 4 pack (2400mAh) I'm not complaining.
