    thanks mate,
you have opened my eyes to the world of watches, which may be a problem in the long run but for now I am enjoying it, keep it up

Now open your ears for the Weekenders.

      TICK TICK TICK TICK.

      • ha, might have to pass on the loud tickers then

        • Yeah, I bought one very similar 2 years ago and it was a nightmare, people often made comments on it.

Timex quartz watches are famous for its ticking sound. It's like it's their heritage/trademark dating back to their classic ads back in WW2. Some people love the ticks and some stay away lol

I wasn't too keen at first cos I know I'd be bothered with the ticks but recently I bit the bullet on one of the Timex Waterbury model cos I liked the idea of the INDIGLO night light. I loved the watch design and found it seems the mechanism is designed to tick against the watchback. Once put on my wrist there is no noise unless you put it to your ear. However when not worn at night I can hear it ticks. Compared to my no-brand quartz watch the Timex actually ticks softer, but I don't like any noise at night so they all go into the drawer.

Note that my watch is a "Waterbury", which is considered to be Timex's *"heritage/premium" line so I am not sure the Weekender/ Weekender Fairfield models are of similar ticking pattern.

        • @sky blu: I don't mind some of the designs of the Waterbury line. Only room for one quartz in the box though.

        • @ilikeit: I wanna see a photo of your watch collection box lol.

  • Huh? Sorry, but I'm just curious as to why was the Timex
Men's T49909 Expedition Rugged Field Watch with Leather Band
edited out of this deal? I actually thought that was the best looking watch out of the ones originally listed

Also, I sometimes find it slightly frustrating when the OP is edited drastically, mainly because I don't feel the deal is a true representation of my original vote, but maybe that's just me.

I only removed it from the title as I felt the Casio Edifice was a better bargain, it's a higher quality watch.

The Expedition is still part of this post, in the description. There's not enough room in the title to list everything.

      • Ah yes, I realised after I replied. My bad!

I guess on looks my pick would be the Timex
T49909 Expedition, as the other ones look a bit average to me. I have no idea about the differences quality-wise though!

(Sorry about the bad link in my earlier reply. Side-effect of surfing on my phone… :P)

  • How well do these cheap casio solar watches work? Do they store the charge in a capacitor or lithium battery, which drains slowly over several hours / days / months?

Great selection okf watches at ozbargain prices!!!!
    Bought the Timex Expedition Rugged.

Thanks op. Purchased the timex weekender with the grey/blue band - looks like price has since risen so good timing :)

  • Wok's wong with Skmeis and Megirs etc?

  • +2

Just my opinion, but these watches are kinda ugly…

Are people really that interested in bargains they'd wear such a thing on their wrist?

I guess it'll match the black polyester suits and the black square-toed shoes…

    • +5

JV and I were only just talking about whether you liked these watches or not, so thanks for letting us know.

      • +2

        Don't interrupt the man, it's a cool story…

I'm disappointed you gave no links for the suits and shoes.
