  • You may want to remove your referral code as they will disable your account.

    • -1

are they disabling accounts now ?

      • Well they suspended mine and regardless of my request they aren't restoring the account.

        • -1

did you have alot of credit from ozb referrals?

        • @easternculture: No, they disabled my account on 2nd referral, whereas my friend here just got one referral and her a/c was disabled. She lost her $30 credit which she has been collecting from those $5 codes. So having on referral wiki isn't safe either.

        • @creeps_bay:

That sucks. Another user reported loosing all referral credit .. i think around $400

        • @easternculture: Woooaaa… $400, i was not even near $50

        • I just opened my app and it said

          Your account has been suspended
Please tap here to contact support for more details.

Is that the error you got?

I used my referral and promo credit ages ago. Only recently added their new promo codes.

        • @neil: Yes, I guess they are suspending account of people having their code in OZBargain wiki

        • @neil: I got that once when I first signed up and used a code (can't remember if it was promo or referral). I called them and they asked me where I got the code from and I said the internet. They said ok and unlocked my account. Still got to keep the credit. Weird…

    • +3

wow if that is true then I say ban GOCATCH from ozbargain sorry to hear mate you should fight it

      • Yep thats true…. I'am the one that lost $400 in credit…its bloody scam, I got them over $$$$ in users and thenm they ban my account, currently writing up document to send them before i take legal action (I'm on holidays so why not!)

There is nothing in there T/C that says you cant give out referral credits to family and friends which is what 'i did'. Ill keep u all updated :)

Edit: just called Consumer affairs and they seem to be lost on whteher I have any rights! any advice?

        • It is considered a Promo Code? Perhaps 3.2.f is what they are upset about? They are covered by 3.2.g and 4.5, although whether or not this is fair I dunno…

        • @John Kimble:

Yeah this is what they quoted me but referral codes are not promotional codes. Promotional codes is what is posted on Ozb by posters. There is nothing in the T/C about refferal codes which is what is bothering me. Therefore both 3.2f and 4.5 become invalide

        • @ahly92: I guess in the absence of a specific section in their T+Cs they are classifying referral codes as promo codes then.

I didn't realise that the $10 referral credit is only valid for 30 days!

          • $10.00 credit valid for 30 days, from the date of this email. To redeem credit, payment must be made in app using PayPal or credit/debit card. Passenger must have have entered either their PayPal or Credit/Debit card details in the GoCatch app. If the total fare is greater than $10.00, the balance (if any) will be charged to your nominated payment method.

When does the $20 credit appear after adding android pay?

    • I wouldn't know sorry my phone is rooted i can't add it

      • That's weird.. I'm rooted and Android pay works perfectly. I might be the exception though shrugs

        • I'm burning I need all the credit I can get can't drive so use taxis heaps and cant take advantage of the promo because had to root to get rid of all the garbage off my Lenovo A806

        • @supatight: no public transport? Using taxis often is very un-ozbargain-like.

        • @brezzo: LOL I have cerebral palsy so not really an option for me

        • @supatight: clearly I didn't know that.. Was simply offering an alternative to expensive taxis.

        • @brezzo: all good mate

    • Yeah I thought it would be instant?

    • Got mine within about 10 minutes?

Saw this on Facebook when clicked would take me to link provided

Do you have a screenshot of the Facebook ad?

As you linked to the iOS app I thought that was pretty bizarre for them to point to an iOS app for an Android Pay promo :P

  • PS I had no idea Android Pay works in apps as well so there's no need for an NFC-enabled phone in these cases.

  • ah no Suncorp bank support

  • Added android pay, haven't got any credit. Has anyone got theirs?

    • yep got mine! When I clicked into vouchers, I saw the $5 balance for December rides. Clicked into "redeem a voucher". Didn't do anything and clicked back and it was now $25!

    • Same, I added it a few minutes ago, but no credit yet. Maybe they need to review or approve them somehow? I emailed them through the app to ask if there was a delay…not sure if they will respond as it seems like it is for app feedback.

EDIT: Just got it now. Sweet!

  • Thanks, got it.

  • They've just pushed an update out to Google Play. Once I did that the $20 credit showed up (despite my account being suspended).

    • I think that's just a coincidence since I updated around 3 hours ago and we all seem to have just received the code in the last couple of hours. But who knows, it may still be a prerequisite.

I wish more companies would list an expiry on credit (whether one exists or not). I squandered $25 in Hostelworld credit since I didn't realise it expires.

  • I tried to add my credit card to Android pay but all been declined… "This card can't be used with Android pay" WTH? CBA/St George and 28 degrees. (visa and Mastercard)

  • I have $15 (referral) + $5 (festive) + $20 Android pay + mystery $0.20c = $40.20.

FYI it expires in 90 days.

I was super impatient and emailed them when I didn't see a credit on my account within a few minutes. It came through shortly after, but they ended up responding to my email saying it has been credited.

"Please be advised that this voucher will expire in '90' days and will be legible for GoCatch Rideshare, Taxi, Maxi Taxi or London Rides."

EDIT: I assume it was a typo and he meant "eligible".

    • Cheers.

I wish I knew when my sign up credit expires.
