whats the difference between this one and the one posted yesterday for 11$

  • +1

Rigid side support to keep everything in place. Elastoplast decribes the support of this one as extra firm, the $10.99 item is described as firm support.

  • It does. Right 'bars' ring either side of the kneecap for more support. They're not an annoyance in the slightest.

  • Anyone know the flex in this? Have a bung knee but want to go snowboarding. Can I get thighs to parallel with this?

I tore the ACL in my right knee a couple of years ago, being older and not a sports person it was not repaired. I used to ski and was told if I wanted to do that again I would need a more serious kind of knee brace. You can google, they're much bigger and go from the thigh to below the knee, metal or carbon fibre frames and not cheap. I have a brace similar to this that was ~$100 and came from a UK physio and I wouldn't trust that to ski and snowboard with. In my experience this would be suitable for more support for things like bushwalking but not sports, if this helps. Your kner might not be as bad and this could be used for slightly more sporty activities.

  • online only or instore aswell?

    • +1

Instore as well, if you are looking for them they are not with the other joint supports, they keep them in a seperate display of Elastoplast stuff.

I bought one of each and did a comparative test (so you don't have to) :) both are flexible enough to allow for free movement but obviously both exert pressure to straighten the knee, after my workout first time on the spin bike for ages, the $10.99 leg gave a slight feeling of work whereas the 23.99 one did not it was definitely better at stabilising the joint.

      • thanks for the review :D
