Deus Ex: Mankind Divided PC $19.79 USD ($27.26 AUD) 67% off @ Steam Midweek Madness

110

Lowest price it's ever been on Steam, cheaper than recent Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales, and should even be cheaper than most of the shady CD key sellers too. Pretty decent game, mixed reviews but I reckon worth it at this price if you've been holding out for a decent price.

  • Not interested myself but that's a fantastic price.

  • You are buying half a game with single player pay to play transactions.

Such a mess of a release. And it's sad because the game looks amazing and plays great but it's clear this was released this way to encourage microtransactions and season pass sales.

  • I had such high hopes for this game, and much frustration with the result.
Good to see it cheap though.

    • Is it worth a purchase at this price?

I really enjoyed DE:Human Revolution but was wary of DE:MD given the mixed reviews (and I've got plenty to keep me busy for a while)

      • Probably as diabolic below suggests wait for the dlc combined back as it ended too abruptly. I think I loved the original too much and have unrealistic expectations of the sequels, also this one had an odd mouse lag (for me not everyone) that made it fairly unplayable.

        • Thank you, I posted my question before refreshing the page and seeing diabolic's response.

Guess this one's a miss for now then!

The original Deus Ex was one of the best games of all time, and Human Revolution was great too. But there are a lot of negative reviews for Mankind Divided, mostly because of the requirement to buy DLC to complete the story.

Think I'll wait for the inevitable re-release with all the DLC included.

    • cant be serious? you need to pay for dlc to finish the campaign?

      • you could say that the story without the dlc leaves you hanging, im not satisfied at all with the story, but the gameplay is amazing

mostly because of the requirement to buy DLC to complete the story

That's not true at all. The DLC doesn't complete the story, it's a side story.

It's DLC in the same way that the Missing Link was DLC. You're not required to buy it to complete the story.

Don't know why so much misinformation about this game is always being upvoted, half the time from people who haven't even played the game.

FWIW I loved this game. It's every bit as good as DXHR. The story isn't as good, partly because the setting has turned much darker and more oppressive, and also because the storyline was supposedly cut short so that they could fit it into the next game. The universe in DXMD is an ugly and vicious one — none of that golden age of augmentation that was in DXHR.

Having said that, the gameplay is excellent, and there's more than enough to do in the game — I spent 48 hours finishing this, doing probably 90% of the side quests.

Yes the game could've used more hub worlds, yes the storyline could've been longer. I don't think that detracts from what is ultimately an excellent game.

Seems that people either love this game or hate it.

And no, microtransactions are absolutely NOT required to do well in this game. It's not a case of P2W, it's just a shitty little addition that Square Enix forced on the developers that has zero effect on most people's gameplay. By the end of my mostly stealth run I had more than enough ammo, praxis and neuropozyne.
