Qantas Store: Sennheiser Momentum Over-Ear 2.0 Bluetooth Black, Half Price (49,380 Points or 19,752 Points + $228.14)

200

These used to be sold for 99,380 points, now you can get them for half as many points. Beats the current Sennheiser cashback deal on Momentum headphones IMO.

Ivory is priced higher at 68,990 points.

Not an absolute audiophile quality headphone, but arguably, the highest quality BT and NC headphones on the market today. Unlike Bose QC35, Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 wireless supports aptX codec for Bluetooth connection, improving over the intrinsic bandwidth and compression limitations of the previous Bluetooth protocols.

Wired version is about 32000 piints, about 200 dollars in gift cards. Great value

    • Agreed. If money were not an object though, we wouldn't bother with a Momentum for hi-fi wired headphones anymore. We'd rather go with Sennheiser 630VB and a portable headphone amp such as Audioquest Dragonfly.

  • Is better than qc35 ?

Reviews I read said this had better audio quality, the Bose had better noise cancellation. To that end it may depend on how you use them and I didn't see any widespread concensus that one was better than the other necessarily.

  • I wonder if you could claim the cashback - https://www.campaign.net.au/sennheisercashback/

I don't think so. Here is a list of participating retailers :

YMMV - but I just had my cashback claim accepted ;)

I paid $103 + 18,000 points for the Wired / Over Ear / Momentum 2.0 and got $100 cashback. Just submitted the Qantas store receipt and headphones serial number.

I put it down as other store - Qantas Airways Limited in Mascot NSW

        • This is amazing!

  • Can these be purchased outright with cash ?
Otherwise how can someone without quants membership purchase and how much will this be?

Combined with the Amex deal, makes this $198 from Harvey Norman

    • +3

      That'f for the wired version.

    • what amex deal?

      • Looking forward to the day where every deal DOESN'T reference the HN Amex deal…

  • The Bose and Wilkins P5 wireless are also heavily reduced - 79,230 to 38,920

    • I was disappointed with the B&W P3.

  • Me too, want to know how to buy this

  • I've had these for about 5 months (and unfortunately, paid through the nose for them compared to recent deals). Great headphones, and as mentioned NC is not as good as Bose, but they are more than adequate. I've taken them on board international flights and they do drown out the background noise.

Biggest downside is still (like V1 which I also owned) the headstrap. It gets uncomfortable after about an hour's worth of use. Very tight; I wish they were padded bands.

  • does any1 know what 49,380 Points would equate to in $?

    • +2

Approx. $430. Right now you can swap each $10 Woolies rewards with 870 Qantas points.

      • thanks, currently contacting everyone i know to see who has Qantas points they'd sell to me for $450.

        • Probably better to get them to use their points to redeem it for you than to buy the points off them only to then redeem it yourself

        • are u still interested in getting it?

      • +1

Actually it's probably less than that

        1500pts = $10 woolies gift card
Therefore this is ~$330 given that valuation
Factor in the fact that you can always buy woolies gift cards for 5% off, that makes the valuation ~$314

    • People all have different uses for the points and hence different values.
They get sold for 1 cent a point on these forums.

I have grabbed the Sennheiser PXC550 which is a better deal IMO (points: 85,370 Now:42,580)
This model has been reviewed on bar with BoseQC35 ( or a step up on sound quality) or Sony MDR-1000x

momentum 2.0 are better sounding than the 550's imo

Momentum 2.0's are indeed the higher end headphones by design.

  • Would have been good if they gave sale on gift cards.

    • They have been before.

      • Yes, about 10%. Would be good if it were more discounts like these items on sale.

        • But they probably are well aware that there's value so they wouldn't give too big a discount. I think 10% is the biggest I've seen.

  • Thanks heaps! I was pissed off I missed the cashbacks and specials in December and now chose wireless not wired. Used points and pay. Thanks

    • Enjoy it mate. I bought another one using cashback promotion for wifey as she finds her points more valuable when upgrading her flights. Me, on the other hand, found it most worthwhile to purchase with points and cash.
