CoTD Packing Delivery Is The Worst

ok i'm sure theres a topic on this but i can't find it but can I say that whilst COTD has some good deals, the packaging they use is really poor. I mean if I bought like 5 items on one of those shipping deals day, they would just put it in one plastic packagaing and thats it, no support at all.

Just recently I bought a laptop from them, they should have put it in a box and foam in it so it doesn't get wrecked in transit, no they just put it in a plastic pacakaging so basically its just the laptop box.

this is really poor! i've bought stuff from other people online and have been satisfied with the delivery packaging (well some could be better) but COTD is the worse.

Do others feel the same?

  • The items ive bought have been fine, but they can't get damaged easily.

  • Obviously you havent purchased from Ozstock then , i like Ozstock but there packaging sucks !!

  • Laptops tend to be well-protected in their box with this sort of thing:

Netbooks are often just protected by cardboard inserts, but I think it's still sufficient to put that in a satchel without further padding. Can be pretty wasteful way some companies like Officeworks or DSE do things - place the product box in a much larger packing box and fill the empty space with air pillows.

  • +1

The packaging itself should be good enough for transit. That's how my netbook bought from OW was transfered to the local store. It was the netbook box inside a plain brown cardboard box that was made to just fit the netbook box. Along with the way my PS3 was delivered from Sony, it was the actual PS3 box inside another box that was made to fit it exactly with no padding inside.

  • I have to agree - have bought a few items from COTD which have been thrown into plastic with no protection. I have not had the product itself damaged but I have had the boxes crushed in most cases, which means the products are then unsuitable to use as gifts. I don't think a laptop box would be crushed, I am talking about a Seacret set, paper clip metal people, an epilator, torches that I have bought.

  • No complaints from me, yes there can be some minor damage to the boxes, but the original packaging of the items themselves offers pretty good protection so nothing's ever damaged. If you place a big order they should put all the items in a big rigid box which can help I guess.

Seriously though, for laptops they normally get delivered in their boxes to computer shops and office buildings and so forth anyway, so the fact it gets put in the COTD plastic satchel shouldn't be a concern.
