  • Don't forget you can use the eBay site for cashback.

  • Would have been great with the bonus $199 ice cream bowl attachment which expired Dec 24.

    • They still had the free icecream bowl offer at Myer today with 20% off

      Different motor.

I won't allow that man into my kitchen.

  • Last Ebay sale for good guys had these for $559.20 pickup plus cashrewards.

    • It was a different model. This model is more expensive than the other one. It has a glass bowl, compared to the other model, which has a stainless steel one.
I know, the price difference, based on RRP, is $20. The cost of shipping depends on where you are, so is the actual cost of pickup.
Eventually, it ends up $10 more (including shipping) for me instead of pick up. That is almost the same as it would cost me around $10 to pick up from Kensington NSW. In fact I prefer the glass bowl to the stainless steel one.
If not, and you can wait, the other model will be on special sometime in the future. You can get it then.

      • Just noticed the glass bowl, now that you mention. The glass will be impractical. The stainless steel is still better, in my opinion; can take knocks and won't break easily.

          I see what you mean.
The glass bowl makes it easier to see all sides. But that comes at a cost; $20 more expensive, heavier to carry, easier to slip from your hand and can chip and crack. The replacement glass bowl is $$$. I heard that you will need to re-adjust this machine if you want to use the stainless steel bowl.
That's why the commercial versions of these mixers are always in stainless steel.
Will go hunting for KSM 160 then (has two stainless steel bowls)

          @zDave:

Managed to get the KSM160 for $570 delivered. Could have got it around $9 cheaper, but did not want to bother with cashrewards.
If anyone's interested, I can post the details.

        • @zDave: Very good price. Good on you! Don't need one right now (have an old one), but still like to keep up-to-date on prices, in case mine stop working. So if you don't mind posting details, would appreciate it. Thanks.

  • Anyone know or anyone who's bought these from Amazon? Considerably cheaper. Warranty and power adaptor aside, any other issues to be aware of?

Edit: Nevermind step down converter adds another $150 or so so not as cheap as I thought.
