  Also special mention for the Astrolux S3 XPL-HI 1400LM EDC LED Flashlight 14500 on special for $25.43 (coupon won't work as it is a promo item) probably worthy of its own post but I am just adding here. It is an awesome thrower that runs on a 14500 cell, I already have one so sharing for everyone else!

      FYI, the good ones go to 3500mah now. Supersports600 (on eBay) sells protected and unprotected versions

    I bought Panasonic 18650's from Banggood only about a month ago. Have they stopped shipping them here?

      They didn't stop, but if you try to buy more than 1 packet it will say not shipping here, so you have to buy separately and then it goes fine. Recently got 4 pcs and had to do 2 separate orders as when I tried to order 4 they wouldn't ship.

  Omg I just literally received an anodized version of this light yesterday (my third for the record, best tube light you can buy) and you post this…

  annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd now I have a non anodized version of it's way…I think I have a problem…

  Edit: it should be worth noting that this light works best with an unprotected 18650, the Samsung 30Q is my choice.

    Yep, no problem. I think unprotected cells are recommended for best performance, but either are fine.

    I can't guarantee that they will as it seems that there are two versions of the black model, one has thicker walls on the tube that won't fit some protected cells, but I can confirm both versions I have tested (thick and thin) will fit keeppower protected cells as they are not as fat as some other protected cells.

  I bought a 14500 locally from Battery World (only had protected versions), it was too wide and long to use in any of my devices so had to return it…

  Tempted to buy this torch but I still have torches I bought 10 years ago floating around that have hardly gotten any use apart from a few test runs before going onto the next torch (and the next one). I added a Fenix E01 to my keychain, after tiring of the short lifespan of keychain LED lights, and that gets the most use.

    For the Astrolux I am using keeppower 14500 which fit no problems. I ordered them locally from eBay seller supersports600, his prices are pretty competitive with imports and they come with a nice case.

    Generally the keeppower have a thinner sleeve than other protected cells.

    I am Cleremy and I am a flashaholic.

    Just learned that the XP-L is the same die as the XM-L used in a smaller package and I bought a cheap XM-L tube torch a while back as a curiosity. The only thing is it only came in cool white and I hate using cool white outdoors, and I am content with dimmer settings as I can see fine and don't lose my night vision too much. So it's like I don't need bright torches anymore except for the rare night time bike ride.
    I almost need to force myself to use the 4sevens 18650 XP-G warm white torch I already have.

    This was the error I received when I tried it on the black version but it looks like it is happening here as well now. I see that they have ran out of stock and deal might be expired.
