I know back in the day this used to be cheaper, as it's a retired set the prices have been higher. This is the cheapest I have seen it around.

they have been pretty reliable every time i have bought anything lego.

only temporarily unavailable, not retired. couple months ago, still available on back order means they are still making them?not sure why. should have retired long time ago.
The status was indeed 'retired', and there's no option to order or backorder since then despite the status changed to 'temporary out of stock' twice. The retired set 'Jokerland' was even shown as 'available' 2 days ago and guess what happened when I ordered it.. 'Sorry, this product is no longer available, your order has to be cancelled..'
Hence why some are trying to sell this set for over $500. Best price on ebay in Aus is $419 so this is a pretty decent by comparison.
Totally agree. This is definitely one of the last rare chances to get in below MSRP for those who haven't bought it yet!
Wish they would make a Melbourne themed set, Flinders Street Station would work pretty well.
Except Flinders Street Station is a run down shit hole ignoring the main entrance and isn't all that unique.

Just let you know guys they are asking for your photo ID and a copy of your credit card with your name on. I am not sure why they need this after payment has gone through on pending.
I got the same thing, Just got a call from them.
I asked if it was really necessary, so they provided an alternative way of paying via B pay which wouldn't require sending photos of sensitive information…..
Now that I think about it, I don't think their website has a proper payment gateway, they just captured the credit card details and may be processing it off line manually.
Got mine a few years ago. Excellent build. Looks great. Every visitor talks about it.
And you need a big space to put it.
