ATO Payments; Anyone with Experience Previously Using Westpac Altitude Qantas or QantasCash

Hi all, i have a $15k tax bill to pay. Has anyone successfully used either their Westpac Altitude Qantas Black card, OR Qantascash previously to get points from ATO payments? Westpac specifically say no points earned for business use. I have done it in the past but with much smaller amounts and successfully gotten points.

Assuming both get points from ATO payments, which seems like the case according to pointshack.com, would paying $70 (tax deductible)surcharge for Qantascash warrant 7000 QFF points vs 11.2k qff through westpac for a fee of $217 be worth it?

Or if someone has a better idea, i'm all ears (or if i've completely miscalculated)

Thanks in advance.

  • I'm pretty sure Westpac has a cap on the amount of points u can earn each month

  • My anz cc does not award points for ato payments as of Jan 1 2017

  • note its on the altitude black amex card only you earn points (but after ato amex fee its not worth it). dont use the mastercard or you will earn 0 points. you can earn points using QantasCash but not sure on fees to top it up, dont think you can use a credit card. has anyone tried vpay to top up QantasCash?
