Big W have upto 50% off DeLonghi products according to their catalogue and have it listed at $119 https://www.bigw.com.au/bigw-catalogues#view=catalogue2&sale…

    • That looks great! But none in stock. Can't find the produce on the website either.

      • Out of stock online, should be stock in stores as the catalogue sale started on the 26th, Big W Epping plaza had stock on Monday when I was there.

  • Hey everyone any experts out there.
    What's the steaming quality like?

My dad has bought three machines over the years and none of them a real good

He finds the best ones are like the ones at the cafes.

Also the steaming wand on his other machines is like a kids toy.
And wants one like at cafes.
Obviously only needs one head but is it possible to get a head and proper steam wand for a decent price?

    • Delhongi years and years ago was surprisingly good, now its chinese made junk unfortunately.

The steaming aspect is very very slow as with all of these machines. Also the big note of any delhongi products is the price and maintenance of any spare parts is just astronomical.

I would stick with the breville 920 over this as despite needing spare parts every year and a service its affordable.

A service bill for a delhongi would be around $600+ a year.

If you want a GOOD machine, find a Rocket 58 from europe and import or buy a la marzocco linea mini.

    • Hello,

I too had the exact requirements as your dad :) he must be a smart man!!! Haha.

I bought this machine below and I am so happy with it. Basically it feels as powerful as a cafe machine, the steam wand is incredible & very powerful (not a toy) and it makes amazing coffee. You can steam and make coffee at the same time as it as dual heating (one for coffee, one for steam)

It was over my budget, but I've never ever regretted it. I'd buy another immediately if mine ever broke down.

Also, a good grinder will always make a big difference too.

You'll often pick it up for $600-$700

I was super lucky and got mine on OzB super special for $399!!! 2.5yrs ago. This price has never been repeated. I think it was probably a mistake.
OzB is truly amazing :) my coffee has never been better.

      • ahh, maybe we have the same dad, I might go and ask him :)

I work in hospitliaty and do make coffees, and teh cafe coffee machines are great, the steaming wand is powerful and great,

I did look at a single head machine like a cafe and it was something like $5000, obviously well outside my budget,

is the steam wand like the ones in the cafe??

for the recor, my dad now has a drip machine, capsule machine AND a autogrind machine with a steam wand,
the steam wand is terrible, takes for ever to steam and latte art, forget it!!

    • Has he tried coffee without scalded milk?
