$1 tier seems to be better value than the BTA tier?

    • +19

The Chronicles games are side scrolling, not full open world unlike the main titles in the franchise.

For the uninitiated, the main title chronology:
      AC1
      AC2
      AC Brotherhood
AC Revelations - not in this bundle
AC4 Black Flag - not in this bundle
AC Rogue - not in this bundle
      AC3
      AC Liberation HD
      AC Unity
AC Syndicate - not in this bundle

I thought AC3 was released first followed by AC4?

        • +4

Qiqi means where they fit in the story's timeline, not by Ubisoft's release dates.
          AC4 follows Connor's (AC3) grandfather, so obviously happened prior to AC3 story-wise.

        • +3

The list above is ordered by the games' chronology (with AC1 being the earliest set), not by their release date.

        • @Linkwick: @silverrat23: Got it. Thanks for clarifying.

      • Thanks having never played an Assasins Creed game (keep meanign to) the number of titles and non-obvious order has always bamboozeld me.

      • +10

I realise most people consider the main story of the series useless and totally disposable. In that case, for the vast majority of players this list is true. The issue here is that the story that ties all the games together as a whole is a thing. It does exist. There may be two or three people out there that do care. For those few, it should be pointed out that the chronology of the series-wide story is the same as release order.

For those two or three people who do care, I give you the "Damn I wish I could skip this crap" true chronology structure.

Season One AKA "Desmond Miles and the Assassins"
        1) Assassin's Creed (Altair)
        2) Assassin's Creed 2 (Ezio)
        3) Assassin's Creed Brotherhood (Ezio)
        4) Assassin's Creed Revelations (Ezio and Altair)
        5) Assassin's Creed 3 (Connor)

Season Two Prologue AKA "the Holiday Special"
        6) Assassin's Creed Liberation (Aveline)

Season Two AKA "Welcome to Abstergo: the New Templar Order"
        7) Assassins Creed 4: Black Flag (Edward)
        8) Assassin's Creed: Freedom Cry (Adelwele)
        9) Assassin's Creed: Rogue (Shay)
        10) Assassin's Creed: Unity (Arno)
        11) Assassin's Creed: Syndicate (Jacob and Evie)

        • Cool thanks. Looks like I need to get back into the series.

While I loved the Altair/Ezio series I haven't touched any of the games after Liberation (I can't bring myself to finish that awful exercise in tedium).

    • Especially if you picked up AC3 in the xmas giveaway.

I've got AC2 and Revelations too so Tier 1 would at least comeplete the original 3 main titles though it would have been nice for Brotherhood to be part of the lower tier packages. No Black Flag I see.

Missing the best game, Black Flag.

    • +2

rather pay $15 for black flag then unity lol

      • Yeah and Unity is $9 at EB ;)

        • Can't find it for $9, are you talking about console preowned?

        • -1

or buy it for around $3 from cdkeys…

      • +1

Eb had it for $3 in an Xmas clearance, and that also included 3.

      • +1

Why would you want to pay for both?

        Or did you mean than?

        • -2

Thanks for the lesson on passive aggressive, Professor Keating

I'm a huge fan and have to say my favourite in order are:

    Assassin's Creed Brotherhood
    Assassin's Creed 2
    Assassin's Creed
    Assassin's Creed Revelations

Black flag was okay but Unity was a huge flop - they should never have released it

    • I liked the coop features in unity and it had my attention for a fair amount of time even after I finished the game.

    • +1

IMO AC2 was the best; they were still in that heady creative mode that bore AC1 but they managed to clean up some of the problems like the free running and combat. I know it isn't perfect, but the main plot with Ezio is just so damn charming.

The only thing I don't like is that it was clear the writers had discovered they were onto something big, so they had to search for a plot justification for the sequel(s).. what they came up with is probably the most inane, proto-religious and semi-philosophical garbage I've ever seen!! The parts I enjoyed the most were just being Ezio, gallivanting about in renaissance Italy. You could remove the whole animus and Minerva devices and the game would function the same, perhaps better..

  • +2

Unity was a great game and I enjoyed it immensely… I got into it a couple of months after release and it was pretty much bug free by the time I got to it..

Great story and nicely improved gameplay.

    • Yeah, I got it after the bugs were fixed and it's a decent game. I don't get all the bitching. Story is certainly better than some installments.

    • Yup having a blast now with Unity on the PC. Just switch the voice to French with eng subs and Paris is really immersive. Having fun doing the murder mysteries and just wandering around killing scum.

  • I bought it for Chronicles so I have an extra Assassin's Creed code if anyone wants to trade for another game.

    • -1

Ironically, I'm only wanting to buy Tier 1 for AC1… but I got no codes to trade with you I'm afraid :-(

      • That's ironic?

        • +1

well it's opposite to what modtang wanted, which is ironic.

  • AC3 is easily one of the worst games I have ever played.

    • -3

I simply hate these games and the movie looks like a travesty.

    • +2

AC Liberation is worse. I'm a fan of the series (well, at least I was) and Liberation is an absolutely painful experience.

      • Jesus, it must be bad. I like everything up until Brotherhood, Revelations was so-so (kinda boring), then AC3 was a pile of dogshit. Black Flag was good fun, but for reasons other than the traditional AC assassination stuff.

        • Yes absolutely. Try it out if you dare.

AC3 had an amazing start, and then went into boring land. But the amazing start and kind of interesting locations easily makes it better than Liberation.

  • +3

Pretty good deal. Too bad it's uplay.

  • +1

Shame all the games are exactly the same. Repetitive piles of turd

  • Good thing I forgot to buy the chronicle series during steam deals lol.

Good games, missing 4, Rogue and Syndicate, but they go for cheap noawadays anyway.

Best bit of this deal is the AC3 DLC - King Washington, jeez that story was gewWWWd.

  • Separate bundle, 1Password Families 1 year subscription for US$10, normally US$60. New subscribers only. https://www.humblebundle.com/game-developer-software-bundle

    • Why pay $60 a year to remember your own passwords?

      • The big benefit of password managers is to enable switching to fully random much more secure passwords.

  • Agree with most here. Ive played all the main AC games (not counting the side scrollers) and 100% most of them. My favourite is Black Flag by far but Syndicate wasnt too bad either and was a breath of fresh air.

  • +2

    AC3 is still free from Ubisoft's 30th bday promotion - https://club.ubisoft.com/en-us/ubi30
EB also has ROgue on PC for $9 (without shipping LOL)

  • If I got the first teir would anyone want to trade Brotherhood for AC1 plus Chronicles china?

  • Any kind soul willing to let me have an AC unity code so a friend of mine can play with me?

  • Got it! Thanks!
