Take a Chance? WD 8TB Red NAS Drives for US $138+Tax each

Long story short, my sister works for Sandisk (Now owned by Western Digital) and can get employee discounts, 8tb WD Red NAS drive for $138. I have a couple of HP Micro servers and Synology DS1515+. Only issue is warranty, will need to send back to US if something goes wrong which is pretty much the same as dealing with Amazon I reckon.

What do you guys think?

What are you waiting for, look at local cost vs your cost, you can buy multiple disks for the price of 1 here. Go for it.

    • To be honest, I'm waiting for her to give me pricing for HGST drives which is also owned by Western Digital.

  • It would actually RAID at this price; keep a spare.

  • can we buy one from you?
