Jesus, Mirror's Edge must have bombed hard to be only $13 barely half a year after release.

    • Yeah, mirror's edge was never a blockbuster hit even from the first one. It has their own group of fans and pretty much it.

    • +2

It has good gameplay but seems to be incomplete. Several story lines started but left unfinished. Several characters introduced but then never mentioned again. The ending is OK but nothing spectacular. Certainly not a spectacular ending like ME1.

The gameplay is pretty damn good though. It was just the story that is a letdown.

It happened with the original too for 3 reasons:

      1. It's a basic game with a basic concept a la Portal, so if not sold digitally or in a bundle (orange box), gamers are likely to 7 day return it

      2. EA supplied a shit ton of stock for the first one (dunno about catalyst but probably the same) so everywhere was ridiculously overstocked. I was working at GAME at the time and we had it for $8 in no time.

      3. I forget what my third reason was..

      • +1

i like the 3rd reason best.

As cheap a bastard as I am (and aren't we all on ozbargain), I'd never complete a game and do a 7 day return even if I didn't like the game. That's just wrong in my book, and abuse of a service.

        • It happens a lot.
When the game is returned at EB, even though it's used they'll sell it as new.

    • +3

Deep discounts don't necessarily mean it bombed hard (though it was considered to be below expectations), it just means that in the 6 months since release, they've pretty much exhausted the number of people willing to pay top dollar for this game.

It's a fairly niche title - whoever really wanted it probably already bought it, now it's facing stiff competition from a stacked christmas release list.

    • Bombed sadly, just seemed to be not enough depth to it's story. I had alot of fun with it though put around 15 hours into it and finished the story. Worth $13 for sure. On Xbox it's part of EA Access now

Still having so much fun with DOOM, even with the repetitive campaign! I'm just firing up random missions on Ultra Violence and giving myself random challenges to complete the level. Much fun, so brutal, so fast.

wow… the last guardian is awesome but cheaper at Target for $39 (if you can find it)…. been wanting to play Mirror's Edge and will definitely try it at $13.15 PS+ price… already played through Uncharted 1-3 but so tempted to buy the collection for the price (but will i ever play them again?!?!?!)

great to see some discount on the VR games too but unfortunately I've already got them all on release…..

    • Can you recommend any of the VR titles mentioned?

      • VR worlds I thought was a good showcase. Has a vr pong type clone, the diving adventure is good for newbies to showcase, an ok gun clone and a combat type sim. For the $$ you'll get a bit of wear out of them.

        • Yeah I've got that one, and Job Simulator :)

      • +2

there's actually a few more VR titles on sale…. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/286225

It all depends on what games you like (and how sick do you get in VR :) …. out of the ones mentioned in this post I really enjoy Eagle Flight and it's great for family and friends… Robinson is a great game to show off if you have the PS4 Pro…. it's much better than i anticipated after all the bad feedback….. Keep Talking is a great party game if you have people in the room with you to play with and I ahvne't spent much time in Loading Human yet…..

    • got a few VR games.
      if anyone wondering..
the pinball vr game is discounted and its bloody awesome. its like so intricate/detailsed. felt like a kid. can see many hours going to spent on this. tempted to get the dlc (when on steep sale)
gunjack its decent for the price. athough i didnt realise you dont move in space. eve is on my list to buy one day.
harmonix music. can play your own music. like a cool music visually/trippy visial experiance. got it because its discounted and i wanted to experience osmething like this on vr. good for the price. need to test it properly when im……on a different planet…
bumper - havent played too much yet, but although pretty good, getting more praise than deserves? maybe i dont dig the play style
was going to get rez infinite but not discounted/too expensive.
i downloaded the free infinite warefar vr thing. coudlnt get past the terms and conditions? eh?

i only have rez, rush of blood and both are great.

actually, playing normal games on cinema/vr mode. bloody awsome.

    AU only.

What would you expect on an Australian website?

Just create an Australian PSN if you want the deals anyway

      • It's an Australian bargain website. Many PS owners on this site have US accounts as it often allows us a cheaper way to buy games.

        • So you should also have an Australian account to make use of the bargain?

          Think before you type mate

        • @freoleo:
          Thanks for the tip mate.

Mortal Kombat XL is only $21.65 better getting that than Mortal Kombat X

    • Where do you see that coming up at $30.95 for me

      • +1

I believe you need PS+ to get Mortal Kombat XL for $21.65

      • never mind wasn't logged in so didn't see PlayStation+ price

    • +3

I was looking for a fun family game… I think I've found it!

  • Mirror's Edge Catalyst is a fantastic game, absolutely recommended.

  • There have been some legitimately good sales on PS4 games these past couple of months. I guess it's one of the benefits of so many titles being released around christmas and early 2017 - so much competition.

  • +3

The Last Guardian is great.. bought it from Target for $39 last week :)

It's still that price until the 15th of Jan ~ https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/285384

  • hey, i will ask it again this time, how are you associated with PSN?

    • +2

how can you ask it again, this time?

      I had to ask.
      …again.

    • +1

By working for sony entertainment australia

  • Hmmm Uncharted Collection is very tempting for this new Ps4 owner, usually stear clear of digital so I can get some cash back on trade-ins but $26 is the cheapest it's ever been. I will probably grab that with Firewatch & Journey Collection and I'm set for a while

    • Highly recommend it, only played the second game, so grabbing all 3 and playing from the beginning in remastered quality was a no brainer. Up to the 3rd now and its definitely worth every dollar!

    • +1

I have them on PS3, is the PS4 a huge graphics upgrade?

      • 1080p 60FPS on PS4

  • +1

    Ratchet & Clank for 19.65

  • doom is $24 at EB games :/ hmm

  • Anyone know if you are able to trial the AU PSN+ 14 days and also trial a US PSN+ account on the same machine but different accounts? Thanks

  • I need some advice please…

I've just purchased a PS4 Pro and I am going to grab Star Wars Battlefront…I know it has its issues but my son loves it…but which version?

I am thinking Ultimate for $40, but it is not clear if this version comes with Bespin, Deathstar, Scarif and Outer Rim for free.
Could someone please confirm if they do or not?

    Cheers!

    • I can confirm that it will judging from this link from EA

This special edition of the game includes everything you need to expand your galaxy and live out your ultimate Star Wars™ battle fantasies. The Ultimate Edition includes Star Wars Battlefront, as well as the Season Pass and its four expansion packs: Outer Rim, Bespin, Death Star and Rogue One: Scarif.

      • Thanks!
I googled my question, and I should have just gone directly to EA!
