Do they still do that thing where they interview you once you redeeem the trial and ask you what your "goals" are in going to the gym? And all you want to do is catch your flight back home in a few hours.
Yes. When I was a wee lad starting uni. They got me good. Promised one thing, I signed and when the promises never came to be, they denied ever promising anything.
It was nightmare to cancel the direct debit with them. They kept bombarding me with clauses from the contract I signed blah blah blah.
All that money lost as a poor student. Left a very sour taste in my mouth.
This was before their rebranding so no idea what it's like now.
You had guts posting this OP, I have a membership at FF and even I know that their tactics to get you to join during these free trials is ridiculous.
I wouldn't touch them unless you are dedicated to stay in for a 12 month contract, I joined because it was cheap for me, but my god are their prices high normally and 2 of the gyms closest to me have closed down during my contract.
It's not that difficult to say that you are not interested / don't call this number again / I signed up at gym X instead. If you umm and ahh about it or ignore their calls or say you are interested they will keep calling.

Don't do it, I tried their free trial before when one of their hot gym girls gave me a card to join free on the street.
They really try to push you to sign up while you are there and make you feel bad for using their gym for free.
If you are serious about joining of course go ahead otherwise they will just trap you
