  • Does the flights include luggage allowances?

If it's flying SQ it does

Flights from Brisbane, Perth and Sydney no deal unless you need to fly Star Alliance or severely prefer SIA.

    Qantas cheaper from Perth ($479)
    Qantas cheaper from Sydney ($597)
Qantas both cheaper from Brisbane ($599)

Can't get the cheap Adelaide flights to come up either (would be good if direct)

After recently flying from BNE to SIN I with QF I would pay the few dollars more for SQ. The QF service was more like a domestic service with tablets handed out for inflight entertainment and very basic food.

      • Funny, I've found QF's service to be really patchy but excellent as of late.

Am overseas at the moment and flew them and had an extremely pleasant flight. Food was by far the best I've had on an airline - mind you this was from Sydney and yes I do understand that the airline doesn't have much input into the food.

That said I used to be gold on velocity which meant I could get access to SIA's lounges in Singapore which were awesome so I understand why people prefer to fly with them. Service is usually impeccable and they go above and beyond.

For me, however, I'd probably take the cheapest flight as long as it's with a top tier carrier (especially when it saves you over 10% in Perth's case), otherwise look at where I could get the best FF points.

On the lounge front I would actually take Qantas over Singapore. You get access to a nicer lounge as a Qantas Gold than a Velocity Platinum

        • Thats what has always killed it for me with QF. One flight great, one flight so average. Glad you had a great experience this time around

        • @MrBr0:

Here's hoping for the way back :)

      Hi Blighst,

Sorry about the Adelaide dates. They are correct now - and the flights are direct from Adelaide to Singapore.

Regarding the current Qantas deal vs this Singapore Airlines deal - not all dates in the Qantas deal are cheaper than this deal. Eg:
Melbourne to Singapore in July, Singapore Airlines is $606 and Qantas is $775
      http://iwantthatflight.com.au/flight.ashx?oc=MEL&dc=SIN&dd=1…

So depending on your travel dates, this deal may be cheaper.

Qantas deal is good - but this is still a Deal :)

  • Hi guys, just curious if I am going to SG, how long have you guys planned to stay there for? (1st timer)

    • +2

5 days for a first timer would be enough. You could see the sights, eat heaps of food and have time to relax by the pool

    • Let's do a ozbargainers meet up in Singapore. ;)

      • :) what a great idea !

      • Yeah. Cheapcheaplah's community is not as active as this one. Meeting up would be great… but I unfortunately just got back. We should do a Singaporean meet up. Wait… that doesn't sound very inclusive, does it?

        Scratch that idea.

Go there, eat local food, go to Universal Studios (go visit all of Sentosa, really), go to Gardens by the Bay, go to nature reserves, go watch movies, go shopping.

Speaking of shopping, go to Decathlon. It's a sports mega store, and my God, I'm in love with that place. $3.50 t-shirts, $8 swimming trunks, $2.50 swimming goggles… I spent $200+ at that store. Will go back and spend $200 again.

I just want to say thank you to OP and other OzBargainers who put this much effort into putting these deals on here. Thanks for putting the dates and destinations. Makes it easy to read and decide which flights to take without having to go to the website.

    • Hi flaminglemon,

You are very welcome & thanks for the kind words. Regarding the dates that I posted - these are just some of the dates that have the cheap prices. If you don't see any posted dates that work for you, it is still worth searching for your travel dates. This goes for basically all the deals that I post.

  • Has this expired? Cheapest I can find between from Sydney 3/3 and 12/3 is $822….
