Pricebeat with Jetstar for an extra 10% off :)

    • Jetstar removed the online chat to prevent people from price beating. When the chat was accessible, I had to wait half an hour for the to close the chat on me. Then, they completely remove the chat option.

I tried calling and I tried using their normal chat, and no they won't do price beat through other means, only through the now-removed chat on their price beat guarantee page.

      • It seems to be there now but under new terms and conditions - one of which is they will only match one-way fares.

        See here: wwe.jetstar.com/au/en/price-beat-guarantee

Good grief. Bag fee to Phuket from Perth $64 each way.

    • You are better off just buying clothes when you are in Thailand.

Did ScootBiz from BKK -> NRT in December.
Horrible .. didn't even feel like premium economy, barely felt like normal carrier economy….. Food was terrible and extremely small in size, you got ONE drink (Johnny Black) and they wouldn't even bring a soda or coke to mix it with. Cutlery was plastic. Seat recline was crap, the leg rest was crap … over all just not worth it at all.

In comparison, I often take JQ Business (premium economy) and find it more than worth the extra over the standard fare (when on sale of course)

  • Melbourne to Athens is only 'From $422'.

Is this the cheapest ever flight to Europe? Escape our winter, to go play in the Greek Islands!
(Not recommending it, but looks like a great price. From Athens, there are plenty of EU LCC to get to other cities as well!)

That's one way. We've seen recent deals with Air India or Chinese airlines into Western Europe between $8-900. And that gets you luggage and food onboard too.

      • Ahh yes. I read it as return.

NM - Others have had cheaper than $844 return to EU.

      • Reckon it's better to wait for a deal like that? I've no rush to go to EU, just looking to do so opportunistically.

    • Air India often have 850$ returns to Madrid

  • I'm only seeing $199 from SYD to SIN? Is the deal not live yet?

As I did this morning, I buy Scoot SIN-MEL, MEL-SIN when on sale every 3 or 4 months for my GF to visit.

She likes it, new 787 aircraft and travels light.

They very rarely get lower than this.
From what I understand taxes, fees etc are $80 to $90 per leg, so essentially the flight is $70 each-way, can only recommend.

    • I cant see those prices from Sin-Mel… I do see 199 from Mel-Sin though!!

      • Strange! I did buy this morning, received email last night with the sale commencing at 6am AEST

    • i booked flights last week on a similar deal.

Has she had any issues with Scoot? I recognise that it is a budget airline - more so around delays etc?

      • No problems or delays over 6 flights during the last 12 months at all.

Being owned by Singapore Airlines is reassuring.

She is tiny though, so doesn't need a lot of space.

        • Awesome! Lucky I'm only 6 foot 3 :/
          Thanks for the reply.

Enter promo code FLYBAG10 to get a discount (valid for flights made by 25th March 2017).

Code is meant to deduct 5% or 10% off though I applied it for a Melbourne flight to Singapore for 19th January and it appeared to take ~3% off, $199 to $192.95 (currency discrepancy maybe?). Oh well it's better than nothing.

READ CONDITIONS AT BOTTOM OF PAGE… Sale date was 3rd January only.

Sale is still valid for today, they are not great in updating their collateral and need to fire their marketing team.
      Just check their Facebook page.
Sale prices valid for another 30 mins AEST

      • Just going by what you linked to bud… and that page says it was a sale from last week. If their Facebook page does indeed say its for today (I can't access from work), then fair enough. Poor marketing for sure!

  • No Athens flight
