    Glass or plastic?

    • +1

      These are glass.

    • +1

You sure? Last time i visited Coles and checked those smaller bottles they were all plastic (hence the cheaper pricing)

      • I think the smaller bottles are made of plastic.

      • Plastic is the sparkling water version. Glass is the still water version.

        • +11

375ml sparkling and still both have glass version, I have these in my shop.

        • +1

          @kechenl:you sell em for $2?

        • +1

@Hotkolbas: no, $2 can't cover the electricity & display cost of putting into fridge. I sell it for $3.5

      • +1

The plastic versions are actually 500ml despite the fact they look smaller.

    • +11

Throw one to test before buying.

    • got 5 glass ones from my local coles

  • +3

Cheaper to get a can of coke.

    • -2

      possibly less poisonous too

    • +6

Cheaper to donate $1.99 to charity

      Edit: What's your point?

  • +31

The same folk complain about the price of petrol and then try and justify paying $6 a litre (on 'special' mind you) for tap water because of a pretentious, awkward bottle.

but kudos to Voss, marketing genius.

    • +27

but kudos to Voss, marketing genius.

Shame he couldn't replicate that success coaching the Brisbane Lions.

    • +31

Currently arranging my top knot, oiling my beard and slipping into my linens to get this. +1 from me.

      • +10

        slipping into my linens

        Toppest of kek.

    • +1

marketing genius or hordes of fools?

    • +3

The bottles are better than any other bottles I've seen that you can buy. It's just a simple round bottle and they last a really long time. When they finally do get dirty or break you can recycle it and get another one. The big ones make good water jugs for around the home too.

    • +4

I simply like them for the glass bottle… Similar glass bottle would cost $3-5 elsewhere and have that awkward imported taste to it - it'd require a lot of cleaning prior to use. These are ready to use instantly and cheaper.

  • +10

People buy this just for the bottle

    • The glass ones right?…those are about same size as one of those trendy water water bottles i think…

      • +2

Exactly, and the trendy water bottles are about $30, so significant savings.

    • +1

375ml isnt enough water, i use 3 of the 800ml bottles on a daily basis

      • +8

i use 3 of the 800ml bottles on a daily basis

        2 input, 1 (emergency) output?

        • +9

Once you've used the input you have an output bottle already… rinse and repeat.

        • +1

@Pobman: Well yes, could do that, could also cut out the middle-man… but I thought my option was the least disgusting.

        • +2

Log onto OzBargain for the bargains and stay for the banter.

        • +1

@McFly: That is, until you get one mixed up…

    • +1

i do. We have filtered water in work so just refil my glass voss bottle rather than a plastic bottle. lasts alot longer.

    • +2

Exactly. I hate and almost never pay for water. It's essentially free from a tap. But the bottle is great. Had mine for 5~ months.

  • do these fit a car cup holder well, and are they easy to clean inside?

    • easy enough to clean as long as you do it regularly enough :)

the small ones easily fit in cup holders. the bigger ones don't

    • Rocks around a bit in the car holder, but since they are tall it doesn't slip out. Need bottle brush to clean.

      • +2

Use a stubby holder to make it the perfect fit

        • +1

What holds your stubby when you're driving?

        • +3

@THICKnSLOW: His hand hanging out the @Maloo of course.

      • Or dishwasher.

    • all right I'll check it out, thanks guys :)

    • +2

Buy one and find out, it's $2.00.

    • I rinse it shake around with water every few days and that probably cleans it. I rinse it with hot soapy water every now and then.

      • +10

AustriaBargain - but what about the water bottle?

    • Smaller ones can be a little small for some cup holders. The ones where it's simply a ring and a single bit of plastic at the bottom won't work well with these - they slip off the support at the bottom and out the side.

Edit: stubby holder idea should fix this!

  • +1

Aren't people worried about these smashing?

    • I do all the time at work… Hence why I switched back to plastic.

I rather not clean up glass and water should the bottle get knocked over.

    • Yes, but then I like to twirl them. If your just using them as normal, you'll find they are remarkably resilient to small drops on carpet/wood floors.

    • Only once in the past 5 years and that was a work colleague.

    • Put one in the freezer compartment, forgot I turned the temperature down. There's still smashed glass in there because defrosting is a bitch. Will still buy more heheheheeh

  • +2

Easy enough to scratch the branding off these bottles with a pair of scissors or a pocket knife. I’ve been using 4 as ‘guest’ water bottles in my fridge, with an 800ml bottle as a pouring jug.

Would love to see some ‘Voss hacks’ with other uses for these bottles – I’ve seen someone fill them with coloured water and place them in the window sill, looks pretty good

    • +7

I use them for lots of things! I shove my toothbrush, toothpaste, and travel size toiletries in there - the cap doubles as a handy rinse cup on the road.

The large 800 ml bottle's the one I take to the beach and shove my phone / keys / wallet in to keep dry and free of sand.

      • +13

Um, how do you fit a phone inside? You still using a Nokia 8210?

  • This one is cheaper and holds more water, 1L. No need to scratch off the label.

    http://www.ikea.com/au/en/catalog/products/00213558/

    • +2

      Those BCFing caps though…

    • +5

Trying to fill up the tiny opening is annoying on them, and the fiddly bits at the top make it hard to clean. The 1L Voss jugs have a huge opening, you can fill it up with full water pressure. They lay on their sides just fine, the lids are tight and secure, and the small ones feel like the bio grenade from Overwatch. What's not to like.

      • +1

AustriaBargain - but what about the water bottle?
        (Sorry, couldn't resist.)

    • +1

thanks for saving us one cent but if you pay them cash they steal it away again!

    • thanks for saving us one cent but if you pay them cash they steal it away again!

  • I buy it not only for the bottle but for the fact this bottle sits perfectly in most small laptop bags, great tips on the debranding! ++

    • +2

Don't drop your laptop bag, water in glass doesn't go well with electronics

      • +1

        what about water in plastic?

        • Plastic bottle harder to break than glass bottle

      • +2

        Not my electronics :-p

    • +3

"I buy it not only for the bottle but also the bottle is great"

  • +3

Water is $2.50 for 1000L out of my tap

    • +2

Are you going to drink from your hand?
This is $2 for a water bottle with FREE water.

      • +1

        Haha. Agreed.
I use an 800ml bottle at work. Very handy.

Just like pointing out the markup on bottled water.

        • Same here :)
I also feel safer drinking from a glass bottle than a plastic bottle, and is easily identifiable at my workplace.

  • Note, that acetone is not good for you.

    • +6

One would presume people are only using acetone on the outside of the bottle.

      • +5

abacus is speaking from experience, he missed the part about not drinking it.

        • +2

          instructions not clear.. got…

        • @superm86: He put bottle in water.

  • -3

bought 10 cartons a couple of weeks ago at coles when they had the glass 375ml bottles for 50c each
i now have a lot of empty glass bottles lol

  • I like to keep the Voss branding on so everyone knows I drink the good stuff ;)

    • +6

People most likely think that's tap water within an old Voss bottle…

  • Any aftermarket aluminum cap for these glass bottle? The original one is plastic, not elegant enough IMO.

    • Perhaps the plastic cap is chock full of BPA goodness too

      • Even if BPA free, you also have BPS to worry about

  • +5

OP please rename this deal to; VOSS 375ml glass bottle plus bonus Water for $2, that will reduce some of the confused fellow oz bargains. :)

  • Got 5 seem like they would be good to have in the fridge and 1 to use out in the wild.
    Cheers.

  • +2

The same being sold at 2.5$ at woolies. Just got three of them….They are not plastic. They are made of glass.

  • Sigh, now a bigger reason to see all these VOSS bottles in the office space on people's desks

  • I am at work.
    planning to buy this evening.

When will this deal expire ?

  • Are these often on sale?

  • I prefer Evian but i might give Voss a go since its on special
