What Cheap & Fun Leisure Activities Do You Do on The Weekend?

Just curious to know what ozbargainers do during the weekend. Might also help some others get into a hobby or kill some time.

For me, I've gotten into disk golf and cycling around Olympic park on Sunday while Saturday is no fun and all work.

Bush walking - National parks are in plentiful supply - $65 for an annual pass for the car excluding Kosciuszko.

    • Which trails would you recommend? I'm very keen for bushwalking.

      • Elvina and the Mackeral Service trail (just off the basin trail) are great - otherwise - Bobbin Head has great up and down tracks and there are some cracking trails in the Berowra valley - accesible from as nearby as Crosslands reserve.

        • Oh wow, you can go camping there too. Have that bookmarked for one day, cheers m8.

You can take short courses or day classes in all sorts of things. They are often fun and usually quite cheap. You can learn a new skill over a day or few weeks and there are rarely any tests.

All you need is a wink, an nod and a partner.

and if you don't have a partner then sit on top of your dominant hand until it goes numb…..

      • The sleeper …. classic

It's free up front. But can have severe costs later on. (School fees etc)

I've heard alcoholism is all the rage these days, and with all the near expiry beer slabs on sale there's really no excuse not to

I like to use all the skills learnt in scouts by settings traps on NP trails
Bend over a tree, peg and tie to line with rope in a loop, and cover with dirt, sticks
Best bait seems to be i-pads

In Sydney: Art Gallery (free), Coastal walks, such as Bondi to Coogee, "A day in China" (spend an afternoon in Chatswood, Cabramatta or Eastwood), mornings or evenings on any of the many beaches, and of course $2.50 Sundays on public transport get you anywhere cheap including all ferries, Newtown main street crawl, etc etc, never a dull weekend in Sydney

  • Sign up for a World of Warcraft account :)

Free to play until level 20, and only a 50gb download =D

You have time for that? I'm already pressed for time on the weekend doing the things I have to do, and the things I want to do, that I don't need to look for more things to 'want' to do!

  • Book reading (don't have any specific taste, reads every type of topic) and gardening - Sounds too old but yet I feel it really very interesting…
Besides that, I use to sleep, sleep and sleep… Some of my the weekends comprise of shopping and decoration of the house…
