  • 12 Months Interest Free - with Monthly Payments
Conditions of No Deposit, No Interest with Monthly Payments for 12 months: Available to approved GO MasterCard customers on transactions where the amount financed is $500 or more. Offer available on purchases from Harvey Norman franchisees (excludes gift cards, gaming consoles and games, and Miele and Apple products.

Also excludes brands and other products that are offered for sale under agency agreements with Harvey Norman Franchisees). Minimum monthly payments must be made during the interest free period, and interest and payments are payable after the interest free period. Paying only the minimum monthly payment will not pay out the balance before the end of the interest free period.

Offer available on advertised or ticketed price. If there is an outstanding balance after the interest free period ends, interest will be charged at 29.49%. This notice is given under the GO MasterCard Conditions of Use, which specify all other conditions for this offer. A $25.00 Establishment Fee applies to new approved applicants. Account Service fee of $4.95 per month applies.

Also available to existing Creditline, Gem Visa and Buyer’s Edge customers. Refer to product websites for conditions, fees and charges. Credit is provided by Latitude Finance Australia (ABN 42 008 583 588). Australian Credit Licence 392145. http://www.harveynorman.com.au/customer-service/finance-opti…

    • So if I'm right, that gives a comparison rate (12 months, $1400) of around 6%

    • The HTC vive is offered for sale under an agency agreement and so is not eligible for 12 months interest free. Only 6 months.

  • A few years ago I did this to avoid fees and charges:

Go to HSBC website and apply for credit card that has no annual fee for life (basic credit card with no frills).
Once approved you get your credit card in the mail. Take your credit card to JB HiFi and do interest free transaction with your card for the Vive as same price as HN. Pay it back within the interest free period and you get no fees or charges.

If you need to pay a $1,400 phone off in instalments, why not buy a cheaper phone you can pay cash outright for? Or make an effort to save money for a month or two and then buy the phone you want. Even if you pay it off in 12 months you will pay $84.40 in fees which represents 6% of the cost of the phone. Interest free perhaps but definitely not free financing.

    • It's not a phone, the HTC VIVE is a VR Headset for PC Gaming. But you are right in the rest :)

Oh right. It is $100 cheaper with free delivery at the below link.

If you decide to save a little money and then buy it from Microsoft link below you will save $100 for buying on Microsoft and $84.4 for not getting financing. Total saving almost $200.

        • Or as chumlee pointed out, get a fee free card that offers x months off purchases.

  • Get the Hsbc classic card. No monthly keeping fee no establshment fee.

App is pretty….below average tbh, but it does most things. Very secure too, so ill bear with it.
