Best Value PC for price. PC Byte 20% off?

Hi all,
I'm considering purchasing the below PC however I want to make sure Im getting the best deal possible.
I will be putting a GTX 1060 6GB or a GTX 970 in it if I decide to buy it.
I dont do video editing, The PC will be more for Gaming and everyday tasks.

Id rather a PC that will be relatively future proof for the next 5 or so years. Id be happy to change the graphics card to a GTX 1070 later down the track.

The total comes to about $805,

I've also seen the Aldi PC that they added today. However I thought that this is a much better option for the same price?
Id just like to get some other people's thoughts on this before I purchase.
Is it a good deal?
Will it be relatively future proof for gaming for the next 5 or so years?
Will it run a GTX 1070?
Cheers

Do you intend on overclocking? I imagine not as you have the stock Intel cooler only and a H110 motherboard…. so save some coin on the non-K version.

Will it be relatively future proof for gaming for the next 5 or so years?

There is no such thing as future proof for PC's, especially for gaming.

Will you be able to drop in a new GPU in 3 years, probably, but that doesn't make buying a GTX1060 or GTX1070 now future proof.

I dont intend on overclocking just yet, however its only $60 difference between the K verion and the standard.

Will the GTX 1070 be able to run at capacity with the above specs?

      • Not worth the $60 IMO. Get the i5 7600.

The GTX1070 will be maxed out in intensive games, yes.

You need a Z170/Z270 motherboard in order to overclock - your H110 doesn't allow it. So if you're future proofing, make sure you buy the correct mobo too.

Also that power supply is terrible - make sure you upgrade to a branded version (EVGA, Corsair, Silverstone etc) last thing you want is your expensive rig going up in smoke.

The PC also doesn't include extra case fans - budget those in, otherwise your PC is gonna get HOT.

      • Ill have a look into the motherboard, but I might drop to the 7600 then and not bother with overclocking if its too expensive.
If I did want to overclock I can get the Z170 for an extra $125, will it be worth it in your thoughts?
So upgrade the power supply, how many Watts should I be looking at?
I can add a PC Case fan for about $20 so willing to add that too

        • 400-500W max, but what he's saying is get a quality brand PSU, not a cheap PoS that will erupt in flames in 6 months.

        • If you're looking at mostly gaming, it's really not worth an overclock.

The $125 extra for the mobo + $50 for a decent cpu cooler would be much better spend on a GPU upgrade down the track.

As for a power supply, 500W would be plenty. Go for something at least rated bronze (decent power efficiency) and check with jonnyguru.com to make sure it's a good unit. I personally would go for an EVGA G2 650w - it's not much more than a bronze (it's gold rated, so really smooth power delivery so will protect your components) and has a 7 year warranty.

Feel free to ask me any other questions, good luck!
