Claim rejected by Braun for $50 cashback for TS725A iron, has this happened to you?

Anyone had their claim rejected by Braun related to their recent $50 cash back offer as per this post for the TS725A iron? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/285448

I'm in the process of producing more "evidence" and am curious if others have had their claims rejected too?

Comments

  • Did they provide any reasons? Would you be able to share details of your claims with us for review?

Did you meet the T&Cs outlined here: https://promotions.braunhousehold.com.au/xmas/Terms

    • TakaHats: they sent a form response back (see below) but didn't specify why my claim had been rejected. I replied spelling out why I though their decision was in error. They then asked for a "tax invoice". Apparently the Myer account info (with the same info as the "tax invoice" email wasn't enough). The only difference between what I sent them and what they requested was that one document said "tax invoice" at the top and the other didn't… I have resent the documentation with the magic "tax invoice" title. Am awaiting another review.

… part of their letter …

      my responses are in brackets

      CLAIM STATUS

Unfortunately, your claim has been invalidated. This can happen for a number of reasons:

You have not purchased an eligible product under the promotion --- (yes I have: TS725A)
You have purchased your product outside of the promotional period --- (yes I have: 26/12/2016)
No details on your tax invoice match your claim registration details --- (yes I emailed you a copy of the receipt from myers (see attached))
You have not purchased from an authorised retailer under the promotion --- (yes I have Myer (see attached))
You have failed to comply with our requests for More Information --- (I have not received requests for more information)
You have requested your claim be invalidated as you have returned your product. --- (I still have my product and it is not returned)

      • Hope sending the "Tax Invoice" this time works for you.

        • Scan/print/convert your invoice into a pdf
There were comments in the deal post highlighting this issue

  • I got my $50 cashback from Braun. Ironing board hasn't arrived yet though. I bought one of the more expensive irons that gave an ironing board for free.

    • wow, that sounds like a good deal. thanks for replying.

    • I just received my $50 cash back (got the Braun IS5056BK) but also NO ironing board yet.. 12 weeks period is up this week so I'll be contacting them if it doesn't arrive.
Pretty lax if you ask me. Should be a straightforward process?!

      • Let me know if they've replied! I want my ironing board too. :/

  • My claim was approved with no issues

    • cool thanks, did you do click and collect or buy in-store?

      • For reference, I ordered from HN with delivery.

        • okay, thanks for letting me know.

  • Yes mine was intitially rejected, saying that the receipt wasn't a valid receipt (I bought online with Myer staff discount).

I reupped the receipt, nothing more, and it was approved. Maybe there was some corruption of files uploaded. Maybe the first reviewer had a bad day. Who knows, but it was a legitimate claim, and they did approve it .

    • thanks RockyRaccoon. sounds like what I'm going through. Fingers crossed they will honour it.

      • Well if they didn't I had two options. I had the iron still in the box ready to be returned, or I was also going to email them again telling them that was the plan, and also highlighting the "tax Invoice" on the myer order.

Only concern - hence the kept in box, was the vague condition that said…

6.Employees, directors, management and contractors of the Promoter and other agencies, firms or companies associated with the Promotion (including suppliers of the Reward), and their immediate families, are not eligible to enter. By entering this Promotion you represent that you are eligible to enter.

Being a Myer staff purchase could that mean I was classified as being associated with the promotion? Hence that's why I kept it boxed, for return, as at $20 it was a great back up, but not needed at $70+

        • yes, that's a pretty broad exemption list.

    • Congrats. Here's a song for you Rocky:

After sending through the same info with the title tax receipt the cash-back has been approved and may take up to 12 weeks to come through. A good outcome in the end. Be better if I didn't have to spend quite a bit of time re-sending the same info. I love my bargains but sometimes the time and effort that goes into saving a few $ occasionally makes me wonder if it's worth it. I know bad ozbargainer :-)

  • What are the transaction details for the $50 cashback? I have a couple of transactions which I don't recognise.

Mine said "Direct Credit Braun", so should stick out like you-know-what!
