  • This iron any good?

Could I buy two, get free delivery and claim cashback on both?

  • +2

I just checked 13 different stores and click & collect isn't available.

  • In stock in Hobart, if I needed a new iron I'd definitely pick this one up.

  • Out of stock in WA

  • I bought two last time. Braun said I could claim for both, which seems at odds with the conditions above. However, Myer online's tax invoice is not a PDF attachment, but is included in the email. Braun is not happy about this and they keep asking me for the tax invoice.

      The irony

      • +4

Yeah, and after three emails to them the problem is still not ironed out.

    • +1

I just saved the email as a PDF and sent that. Money was in my account 4 weeks later

    • Uhhh… I already submitted my claim before even getting the Iron since it didn't ask for a serial number… I uploaded the myer order confirmation email and am unsure if it'll work.

They will flag you as a fraudster, deny your claim and refuse any future ones. What is that hard about the terms and conditions requiring a tax invoice?

        • Not that big of a deal… It's not like I'm scamming them and all it asked was "proof of purchase" which basically is the same as an invoice, don't need to push it out of proportion.

"We will advise you via your nominated email address if there are any issues with the information that you have provided. If there are no issues with your claim, you will be notified via email once your claim has been approved"

I don't like waiting a month for the cashback and if they really do require it, I'll just provide it 2 days later when I receive it…

You've guaranteed yourself a long wait now! If you sent it when you had a tax invoice they would pay promptly but now you'll likely be flagged and cancelled or asked to resubmit.

Never mess around with cashbacks as they cancel for the slightest error.

        • @Maverick-au:

I just read it as proof of purchase…
Didn't even pay mind to the tax invoice comment until after I already submitted it, thought they'd be the same thing.

"Upload a copy of your proof of purchase (original tax invoice) for the purchase of your participating Braun product."

My myer order confirmation shows literally everything from the price, discount, product, billing address, name, what exactly is so offensive about it? This is the closest thing to an invoice unless they want my paypal invoice too…
Ive already paid it all and now all that's left is wait for auspost's 1 week of backlog due to public holiday.

          @Zeral:
I did what you did, no issues. Approved the following day, prior to me collecting the iron.

        • @ESPLTD:

Thank you, I'm seeing others redubmitting their claims but this guy won't get off my back on being fraudulent, flagging my account and denying future claims.

        • @Zeral:

FYI, keep an eye on your email. I submitted my order confirmation and paypal receipt when I bought the iron, but I've just had a request for more information from Braun. They give 14 days to respond, but I just thought I'd let you know to keep an eye out for the email. :)

        • @colormonochrome:
Yup I have resubmitted the tax invoice which looked basically the same as the order confirmation lol

        • @Zeral:

Hopefully even though the emails are similr, they notice the magic words and approve the cashback.

    • I got the same response. So I attached all correspondence (C&C ready email, order confirmation email, C&C slip) to a single PDF and sent that back to them. Also a separate email for good measure. Now all approved, waiting for money to show up in account.

    • I have submitted everything i have for the third time tonight .Hopefully they are satisfied this time.

  • Thanks, got one.

  • +1

Got to checkout, your item is out of stock

    • +1

Tried again, Got one. Thanks OP

  • Sold out in nsw!

    • Weird. Tried to order again and I could!

  • Dammit, decided to get it after all but it's now out of stock on Hobart. Argh.

  • +1

Order went through but not before it told me the item was not available. After having been refunded last time (rather than simply being told I would have to wait a bit longer for the item to be sent once restocked) and missing out on today's Phillips steam generator deal from Myer I will be infuriated if they cancel my order again. They absolutely need to limit purchases to one per person.

  • out of stock

  • All gone :(

        • ONLINE

        • @Zeral: Oh didn't see that option, thanks!

  • Ozbargained

  • Placed an order with shipping, that delivery fee will teach me not to waffle so much next time, heh. Just checked it again and still showing as in stock, so maybe people are putting one in their cart and then abandoning it?

Does anyone know if this model is heavy enough to use in a Booby trap to keep a couple of burglars out?

    • +1

      Merry Christmas ya filthy animal!

    • They dont make irons thay heavy anymore. You'll have to buy an old (tested) one from a garage sale

  • none left in SA

  • Back in stock online

    • When I try to checkout it says item is out of stock.

      • Damn, someone else must have been quick.

  • Same for me

  • +1

    Gone

  • I've just bought one at $79, Had to pay shipping though, still a bargain

  • Hey guys for those that is using this iron, does it leak water if position it horizontally while its full of water in the reservoir?

    Many thanks!

    • It can a bit but if your remember to turn off the steam (set to zero on the dial) when you turn it off it shuts off the water

  • Be quick to activate your cashback EFTPOS card. The one I got from Braun I left sitting on my desk for a month and it expired…

  • Got one a month ago..still haven't processed the cashback

  • +2

The online cashback is a pain.
I double checked and triple checked my banking BSB and Account numbers before submitting the online form and still it bounced back as not successful. The system will deduct $7.95 for this error and I am not sure what else I can do but to enter the same banking details again.
I did email them and ask them to explain why my initial cashback was not credited to my bank account with no response .
It will be much easier if they could send me a cheque.

  • anybody got their tax invoices from myer? i only receive the order pdf which it said, it's not tax invoice. without it, i cant claim from braun.

    • They sent me a tax invoice in a separate email, I just exported it to PDF to upload and it was accepted

  • Just noticed this deal is now active again at $71.10 ($21.10 after $50 cashback) :)

    • +1

      $50 cashback claim has ended.
