Sony H.ear in NC Noise Cancelling IN-EAR Headphones $78 + $5.95 Postage @ Harvey Norman

120

Yes this is yet another post about earphones - I do wonder how many pairs of earphones would an ozbargainer own in average?

Back to the point - am looking for a reasonable pair of Noise cancelling EARphones for commuting on buses/trains. While I'd love to buy a pair of Bose NC25/35, I found this cheaper pair of Sony in-ear earphones for $78. As they don't have stock in the stores near me, I have to pay for $5.95 postage.

But the cheapest I have found elsewhere is $14x.

Review is reasonably positive - definitely not the best in noise cancelling and sound quality (given the price point of $2xx) but it does the job.

Anyway I have bought one. If you are aware of any better NC earphones/headphones on special, please let me(and others on ozb) know!

I've always found that if in-ear headphones are properly sealing the ear there is very good isolation. Not sure why you'd want noise cancelling as well.

Agreed. Also, active noise cancelling is another device you have to carry around with you, it's generally the size of a lipstick, which ruins the 'portability' factor for me. For headphones it's okay/necessary. For earphones, I don't think it's necessary.

A lot of people will probably disagree with this opinion though.

Try a proper NC pair on a plane, and then you'll find out.

    • The one with good ear seal, probably is what they call passive NC.

Bose QC is active NC is using some frequency to cancel the outside noise.

      This is what I think

  • Does anyone know what model these are? How would they compare to Beats in ear headphones?

  • I have a pair of these, they are great for the price point, works well in the airplane. Also picked up another pair, thanks OP.

    • Great to have your endorsement - I have another pair of Sony NC headphone and they are quite good for their price point… but I am looking for something smaller for commute

  • Thanks mate! Been looking for something affordable!
We will see how these go. Cheers for the deal!
