Anker PowerPort+ 5-Port 60W USB Desktop Charger (1x 30W USB-C PD, 4x USB-A) $59.99 + Free Shipping @ CableGeek

620
POWERPORTPD

As an Anker authorised reseller, we are proud to launch the Australian model of Anker PowerPort+ 5 USB-C Charger with PD. This is the first ever RCM approved USB-C multi-port charger and now exclusively available from CableGeek.

I've tested this charger personally and its USB-C port supports a PD output of up to 45W (for MacBook Pro 13-inch). Note that it's not compatible with Apple USB-C Multi-port Adapter or the Apple Lightning to USB-C cable. The 4 USB ports support 5V/2.4A so this is perfect for future-proofing your mobile charging needs.

Unlike many online sellers who ship a AU power cable with a non-compliant charger, this charger we sell (model A2053) is RCM approved and can be verified with ERAC. Note that only products that are directly or indirectly supplied by the registered Responsible Supplier are legitimate.

The 20% off RRP deal ends on Friday 27 Jan or while stocks last. Limit 2 per customer.

UPDATE: This product is now out of stock. All orders will be shipped today and we really appreciate the exciting demand. The next batch of this PD charger will arrive in late February. We have to withhold the last few units for potential warranty replacements for now. Feel free to browse all Anker products on CableGeek. We'll be back with more deals soon.

    Good deal!
Just bought the HK version for only slightly cheaper a few days ago! :(
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/122001934828?_trksid=p2057872.m27…

What deal have you got on USB Type-C to Type-C cables?

  • +2

    5V/3A [15W], 9V/3A [27W], 15V/3A [45W] and 20V/2.25A [45W] on the USB Type-C PD port. It has Split PDO.

5V/2.4A max on the USB Type-A ports. Haven't seen the max total A stated anywhere. I suppose you should get 5V/12A total [60W] amongst all 5 ports. If you're not using PD, then maximum draw of 3+2.4+2.4.2.4+2.4 = 12.6A total.

These sell well on Amazon etc.

Aaaaaaaarh. I just went to great trouble getting one of these via Amazon JP. Great deal, solid device and Benson Leung approved!

I love Anker stuff, and getting it in Australia has always been a massive PITA, so I'm glad to see an Aussie seller of this stuff now.

  • Is this charger compatible with the Dell XPS13?

    • This is one of the most "compliant" PD chargers around. It supports all USB-C laptops. The only known incompatibility is with iPad Pro and the Apple Digital AV multi port adapter.

      • -7

All? How about 15 Macbook Pro 2016? Its 85W.

        • +1

It can charge it at 45W. MacBook Pro will ask for 45W power and the charger will deliver it. You'll likely get faster charging with the 85W charger but this doesn't make the Anker one incompatible. (For overnight charging, 45W is more than good enough)

Website states: USB-C with Power Delivery
Charges the new MacBook at full 29W speed-almost twice as fast as a standard USB-C charge-leaving you with more time for you.

Where does your 45W rating come from?
Why does it say "with Power Delivery" - isn't that the whole purpose of a charger? You buy it so it delivers power to the devices you plug into it… ;)

    • +2

Power Delivery is a USB Specification.

      • Ahh, cheers!
Hadn't actually read about that, thanks :)

Cheers CG. Maybe an update is in order for your web team! ;)

    • +1

45W comes from tests performed by me and others. See also the futaris comment above. When the description was written there was no MacBook that supports more than 29W.

Thanks, bought one to support you guys. Anker products are fantastic but aren't always the easiest to purchase in Australia as others have pointed out.

Big thumbs up to an Aussie business bringing their products down here and also getting official support from the manufacturer.

  • +1

Great price. Having just bought a Tronsmart (recent other previous OzB deal) to complement my existing Anker gear (bought from another Aussie seller, at a vastly higher price than this), I'm probably all set for USB charging for the current time, but am happy to throw my support at this product and this terrific price.

  • Compatible with HP Spectre X2?

  • Will this charge A Nexus 5P at full speed (5W/3A) on the USB C slot?

  • +1

Nice one - happy to support a local merchant for a few bucks extra.

  • so can i charge a XPS13 9360 and use the remaining ports to charge phones etc?

    • Well, you'll have 15W left to charge eg. a 1A phone plus a 2A tablet.

  • can this charge surface book - thanks

    • I don't think the Surface Book has USB-C.

      • You are right…. unfortunately not :(

  • +1

This looks and sounds awesome! New to chargers like this, what a great concept… can it somehow charge a MacBook Air laptop (mid 2013) - I guess it would require a USB to apple magsafe power cable (if that exists?). I love the minimalist idea of the One Charger! One Charger to charge them all!

    • Not a chance.

    • It's 2017 and printers don't work still and you're expecting a universal charger?

  • Does this include a type-C cable?

    • No it doesn't. It comes with an AU power cable in the package.

  • When you said it charges the MacBook Pro 13-inch do you mean the 2016 edition?

    • Yes. The new MacBook Pro with USB-C.

      • How would this charger compare with the original Apple charger (61w)?

        • +1

This charger can charge the MacBook Pro at 45W. I've tested this personally. The charging speed is a bit slower but you won't notice a difference (the battery level doesn't drop even with intensive usage).

        • +1

@CableGeek: Thanks for getting back to me. I think that this may be suitable for me as I love lightweight travel and this would mean I only need one charger to travel with and that I have a back up one and I can leave one at my desk permanently. Cheers :)

    Bought one. Thanks

FWIW the only non-original chargers that I would buy are from Anker. Top quality, fast charging, don't heat up.

Good to see that you can buy an official, Australian version now as the ones that I have bought from Amazon have always included a UK power cable, etc.

  • +1

I got this off eBay 6 months ago for this price (not on sale) not really are bargain .. that said awesome product though. Couldn't live without it. Beats buying another power brick from apple.

    • +1

It's likely the US version and the seller swapped the power cable. This product was only certified in Australia recently. Although most buyers won't care, the law prohibits us from selling (and reselling) non-compliant electrical products. Therefore we had to work with Anker and their official distribution channel to launch the product.

FYI the full model number for this product is A2053T11, whereas the US Amazon version is A2053011.

      • +1

Interesting! Yeah Anker make great stuff. They really need to get their arse into gear here in Aus

  • will this charge xps 13 vs the USB C port?

  • I'd buy one if the PD supported the 12.9" iPad pro

  • +2

I have one portable battery from Anker and can't speak highly enough of their product and customer service (Anker that is). You pay little more for the brand but its completely worth it.

  • Just bought one for myself, might buy another one for keeping at work :) thanks OP!

I'm primarily using this as a cheaper alternative to charge my 15" MacBook Pro. So therefore I need a USB-C to USB-C cable. I don't understand what the USB-C 2.0 is; is that the same? And, are those rated for 85W? (That is in case I plug it into the original charger)

    • USB-C to USB-C 2.0 cables will work just fine. You just won't get the 5/10 Gbps data transfer speed without a USB-C 3.1 cable. Just make sure the cable is thick enough for the 3A current to pass through (USB-C is mostly high voltage which is less relevant). I personally don't have any problems with the Anker C to C 2.0 cables.

  • Tricky Q for everyone. Would this be worth getting as an extra charger for a Nintendo Switch?

  • If I buy one now will it get shipped today? Need it ASAP for a trip.

  • +1

Although I missed out… giving a +1 for this: We have to withhold the last few units for potential warranty replacements for now.

    • +5

Thanks! Although Anker products are very high-quality in general, a tiny fraction (0.5%) of all devices may stop working during the 18-month warranty period due to manufacturing defects. Just in case someone had a non-working device before our next batch arrives, we usually store about 3% of a batch in our warehouse for immediate shipment of replacement units. (We at CableGeek don't want our customers to wait for a replacement shipped from overseas.)

  • +1

Damn! I failed at OzBargaining and waited a few min before trying to buy, I have paid the price by missing the stock window :(
Thanks anyway Cablegeek, it's really nice to see quality USB-C products coming to Aus. My Pixel USB-C adapter recently failed and Google is doing a terrible job at replacing it so I've been looking for alternatives.

  • +1

I'm so glad I bought this in time!

  • +1

    Dammit… knew I shouldn't have waited til after lunch… maybe next time…

  • Is it possible to get a compatible cable that would suit a surface pro 4. Is there something that even exists. Usb to surface pro 4

    • Unlikely. Surface Pro 4 uses a proprietary charging port.

  • +1

I got the white version of this and it is amazing… no coil whine like in some of the Aukey products. Make sure you buy a Benson approved USB C cable before using on the PD port for safety reasons.

Got my credit card in hand……..missed out 💩😢

missed out, but posting for future opportunity. Please restock and re-offer thanks guys

Awesome deal, thanks CableGeek! My adapter arrived today and is working great on my Touchbar Macbook Pro 15".

    • Thanks for the update. Glad that you find the PD port adequate for charging the most powerful USB-C laptop!

  • I'm keen on an Anker charger with support for Qualcomm's Quick Charge 3.0. Hopefully with 20% off as well :D

    Still planning to restock this?

We've already ordered this product but there has been some delays with manufacturing. We are still on track to make this product available around mid-March.
